Hornet Hive Updates
Green JHS Weekly Bulletin for September 27th, 2021
Principal's Message
Good morning EO Green parents/guardians and community members,
The GREEN Staff appreciates and recognizes that the Williams Walk Audit was a success thanks to your support. Thank you for reminding your students to bring their textbooks and Chromebooks to school. Here are some reminders for this week:
Your students need to continue to bring their fully charged Chromebook to school daily.
Chromebooks - Parents, please remind your students that all Chromebooks are monitored at all times, 24/7, including weekends. We communicate with parents when your student misuses the device. The Chromebook is for educational purposes only.
Remind your students to keep their cellular phones in the backpack. Students are not allowed to use their phone as it causes distraction from learning. We want all HORNETS to concentrate on achieving academic success.
Your student does NOT need to bring the textbooks to school; keep them at home.
Community members, be aware that the Integrated Fire Company will be testing our fire alarm system on Saturday, September 25, 2021. Please, do not be alarmed if you hear the fire alarms activating; it's all a test.
All students will complete the easyCBM Mathematics Screener September 27 - October 1, 2021
All students will complete the Panorama Survey October 4-8th.
It is super important that your student comes to school daily and on time to avoid missing instruction and these important screeners/surveys and academics.
Progress Notices, the student academic progress notices, will go home with your student on Friday, October 8, 2021. Please, sign one and return it to school. The second copy stays home.
Picture makeup day is coming to GREEN on September 28, 2021. Only students who did not take their photo identification during orientation days will take their photos.
ELOG - Expanded Learning Opportunities: Parents and guardians, please submit any recommendations you have to address our students' academic growth and or their social-emotional needs. GREEN is interested in your input, all suggestions will be taken into consideration. Thank you for taking the time to submit it. Enter Recommendations HERE.
Attentively,
Mrs. Melgoza-Vasquez

September 27th is National Family Day
Celebrate National Family day this Monday, September 27th, by having a meal with your family. It doesn’t have to be fancy. But it does have to include food and your family. Gather everyone and set the table. Talk to each other. Find out about everyone’s day. Research shows that teens who eat meals with their families are less likely to fall into substance abuse, tend to do better in school and eat healthier.
