SHES Weekly Update
August 5th, 2022
- Special Education Instructional Assistant - 6 hours, 8:30 am - 3 pm. Assist in the instructional program and behavior management of students with disabilities in Special Day Classes. Provide instruction and be a positive role model to students in basic living skills, social interactions, and academic development.
- Special Education Instructional Assistant - 3 hours, 45 minutes, 8:45 am - 12:30 pm. Assist in the instructional program and behavior management of students with disabilities in Special Day Classes. - Start time - The first bell rings at 8:45 am. Students need to be in their seats by 8:50 am or are considered tardy. Students may be dropped off as early as 8:20 am and go to the playground. Please note that there is not any supervision before 8:20 am. Parents will be called to pick up their student if he/she is dropped off before this time.
- First day drop off, August 17th - On the first day of school, please plan to arrive early and leave yourself plenty of time to find parking. The classrooms will be open at 8:45 am.
- Dismissal - School is dismissed at 3:02 pm. We encourage you to be early if you plan on parking and waiting for your child outside of their classroom. Our parking lot is going to be crowded and it is going to take time and patience as we all adjust back to the traditional pick-up routine. At approximately 2:50 pm, we will open the gates to the school and parents can walk to their child’s classroom. The teacher will dismiss the children whose parents are there and then walk the rest of the class out to wait for their parents by the front parking lot.
- Parking lot - Please make sure that you gather as much patience as possible before picking your student up during the first few weeks of school. Our parking lot will be very busy and it is going to take time for everyone to get adjusted and learn our routines. - Chromebooks - Each student will be given a Chromebook to start the school year. Chromebooks will be taken to and from school on a daily basis. Students need to make sure that they charge their Chromebook every night to be prepared for school the following day.
- Chromebook Pick Up - If you did not pick up a Chromebook before the start of school, we will be passing out Chromebooks after school starting on Monday, August 27, from 3 - 4 pm.
- Chromebook Insurance Form and Agreement - Please click here for the 2022-2023 Chromebook Protection Plan and Guidelines. Each student must have one of these forms filled out and signed before receiving a Chromebook to take home. Feel free to fill this out early and bring it to school on August 10th or 11th when picking up a Chromebook.
Don't forget to sign up for your School Cafe Account! Even if your student does not get lunch on a regular basis, they will need a School Cafe Account. Students will be given a personalized number this year to use when they get lunch. This does not change the fact that breakfast and lunch are free to every student. *Please do this ahead of time. You will be asked to complete it on the Chromebook pick up days.
- Bussing - Bussing does start on the first day of school but only students who have completed their bus registration will be permitted to ride the bus. Please visit our Transportation Page on the District Website to complete your registration.
