- The preferred way to receive paperwork is by drop off or via email to Peggy.Faught@D303.org.
- The deadline is October 15th for Physicals and Immunization records. There is a possibility of Exclusion from school if there has been no communication with Nurse Peggy or Nurse LeeAnna prior to that date. If you need assistance in any way, please contact the Nurse for help.
Hygiene & Independence
This year has come with some surprising new challenges in the health office. Several of our children are having difficulty with self-care in the bathroom. Some cannot change their own clothing if soiled, some need help wiping themselves and a good number of our little ones may soil themselves regularly. It is expected that we see some of this at school from time to time, that is why we have extra clothes and underwear available for our children’s comfort.
- If your child comes home wearing clothing that is not his/hers, please be prompt in washing the clothes and returning them to the health office for the next student in need.
- There have been times when some children have been soiled significantly. On those occasions, you may be called upon to come in and assist your child due to the appropriate amount of cleansing that is necessary. I will do my best to assist your child, but the goal is to avoid the risks of any Urinary Tract Infections that may occur if not cleaned thoroughly.
Please practice with your children at home regarding self-care in the bathroom.
I am asking for your help with this - dressing, undressing, wiping themselves, good handwashing afterwards and flushing of the toilet. These are skills that will build their confidence and promote independence. It will also make an enormous difference in their level of self-esteem. Remember to praise for all their efforts not just the successes. This is an important milestone for both you as parents and your child as they are becoming more independent with their toileting needs.
- If you are aware of your child’s challenges with the bathroom, please send extra clothing and flushable wipes for them to keep in the office.
If you have any questions or concerns, please feel free to reach out to Nurse Peggy in the health office. 331-228-2204 Peggy.Faught@d303.org
