Monthly Parent Appreciation Party
Strive Center for Autism is beginning monthly Parent Appreciation Parties! These events will be around pick up and drop off times for ease of parents schedules. The purpose of these events is to get parents together to get to know one another and feel a sense of community. Strive will provide a space for parents to connect outside of the center! Strive staff will not be present at the event, as we hope it will be a time for families to casually network. Parents and caregivers are welcome!
Our first Parent Appreciation Party will be December 10th from 8:35-9:00am.
At the Burton location, the event will be held in the Autism Support and Resource Center building behind our playground at the back of the lot. Feel free to walk over after you drop your child off for therapy. Coffee and bagels will be provided. Please stay as long as you would like!
At the Brighton location, the event will be held in the Coffee Beanery right near the center . Feel free to head over after you drop your child off for therapy. You will be given a voucher for your first coffee drink on us! We will have a table marked for Strive Families. Please stay as long as you would like!
Please reach out to your BCBA with any questions.

Strive T Shirts
Shirts will be light blue with a small Strive logo on upper left chest and large Tree of Possibilities on the back with the phrase, "Providing relief, creating possibilities" under the tree.
Strive Center will be providing a shirt for each child enrolled in our program.
Shirts are available in child and adult sizes, and will cost $15 each. There is no obligation to purchase shirts, we are just making it available for families who might be interested.
Adult sizes are available in short or long sleeve, child shirts will be available in short sleeve only.
Orders will remain open through November 29th.
It's Getting Chilly
We will send winter gear home daily, so that you have it if you need it in the evenings or on the weekends.
An easy way to send it is to keep it in a reusable shopping bag with your child's name on it. Then we can pack it all up at the end of each day.
Holiday Absences
Keep in mind that we are OPEN next week on Monday and Tuesday only (November 22 and 23) and CLOSED Wednesday - Friday for Thanksgiving.
In December, our last day of therapy will be Friday, December 17th. Both centers will be CLOSED December 20th - December 31st. Therapy will resume on Monday, January 3rd.
You can either email Katie, our Office Manager at Kolari@sc-centers.com or call the center and follow the prompts for the center's attendance line at 810-344-8082.
Inclement Weather or Other Cancellations
The Strive Center for Autism will plan to be open and available for service as much as possible. In the event that we may need to cancel sessions, we will provide as much notice as we can, and offer several options for parents to access that information.
Parents may sign up for our www.remind.com account, and we will inform families of any cancellations through that account.
Parents may access our Facebook page for closing information or our website: www.sc-centers.com.
The following guidelines will be used to make a decision to close due to weather:
- Because our families transport their children, the Strive Center may not close due to cold temperatures.
- A decision to close will be made by 6:00am and posted on www.remind.com, our Facebook page, and our website.
- The Strive Center will close when driving conditions in and around Brighton or Burton are noted to be dangerous.
Parents will not be charged any fee for days cancelled by the Strive Center.
Holiday Appreciation
With the holidays approaching, we want you to know how much we appreciate you sharing your children with us every day of the year! We know that you have placed an enormous amount of trust in us, and we are humbled to spend this time working with your child and family.
At this time of year parents may feel they would like to thank the people who spend so much time with their children. While this may be a common and acceptable thing to do in a number of other settings, due to our professional ethics, we are unable to accept gifts from our families and we wanted to make sure you know that. The Professional and Ethical Compliance Code for Behavior Analysts and RBTs states clearly that we cannot ethically accept gifts. As we strive to perform to a high standard of practice, we feel it is important to preserve this code.
If you feel like you would like to give an extra special thank you to any of our staff, please know that we would love to hear your feedback on our annual parent surveys, be thrilled to receive a handwritten thank you note, or absolutely treasure a picture your child colors for us. Outside of those things, we cannot accept gifts.
Thank you so much for understanding and Happy Holidays!
Centers CLOSED for winter break
Therapy will resume on Monday, January 3rd.
Please enjoy a lovely cozy time with your family.
