Hello Ishi Families.

Spring is around the corner and so is the SBAC state testing. We have not had to administer the test for the past few years due to disasters and the pandemic. So, this year we want to remind families that this test is just one way to "check" in on our students' progress and present levels. We will be testing from April 25th through May 27th and will be sending home information soon about the test and what to expect. I would like to remind you to make sure your students take the test seriously to show their true levels. Also, make sure your student gets plenty of rest the night before and eats a healthy breakfast. Remember, our cafeteria provides a wonderful breakfast that is free to all students. This year, I am sure, our students will step up to the challenge and shine!

Please join Melissa Anderson from the BCOE nicotine addiction counseling services for an informational night at Ishi Hills on Wednesday March 16th from 5:00-6:00pm. She will be here to explain how we address vaping with our youth and what parents need to know. We will provide dinner for the family. All are welcome. Please come!

Both Ishi Hills and Central Middle School have made it to the Semi Finals! Way to go teams!

Our very own sixth graders Daisee Dillon and Aiden Tucker will be competing in the county spelling bee at the end of March.

We are looking for parents who would like to participate in the future of Ishi Hills as well as the input to Oroville City Elementary School District.

Title 1- Is the funding we receive from state and local sources that provides funding to schools to assist in free/reduced lunches and provides services to aid in the academic program and provides support to students at risk of failing to achieve academic standards.

LCAP (Local Control and Accountability Plan)- This is more district based and will look at the needs of the community and the schools. The meeting will be held April 21 at 5:30 pm at Central Middle School.

As the school year is nearing the end, Ishi Hills has some fun events in store for our students! We are in need of Parent Volunteers to help support our staff. School begins at 8:25 am and ends at 2:30 pm. Please help your student(s) to arrive on time.

If your student is going to be absent, you have 5 school days to clear their absence. If the absence is not cleared up within 5 school days, the absence will remain unexcused.

If a child has accumulated 10 or more sick days throughout the school year, a doctor's note must be given thereafter.
