The National Junior Honor Society (NJHS) will notify 8th grade students who qualified for NJHS during the last week of March.
Grades used for qualifying an 8th grader for NJHS 2020-2021 are as follows:
From 6th Grade: Grades from all 4 terms
From 7th Grade: Grades from Terms 1 & 2
From 8th Grade: Grades from Terms 1 & 2
In order to qualify, students need an average of 95 or above.
Qualifying students will receive an email with instructions on how to complete their application to the National Junior Honor Society chapter at Miscoe. We look forward to inducting our NJHS students this year!
Youth Art Month (YAM), is celebrated nationally each March to bring awareness of the fact that visual art education is a viable factor in the total education curriculum that develops citizens of a global society.
In Massachusetts during the month of March MAEA annually sponsors a Statewide preK-12 YAM Exhibit of student artworks submitted by art educators in public, private and independent schools from across the state. There are also regional and district wide YAM exhibits, as well as school-based exhibits and events throughout the year celebrating Art Education.
Typically held in Boston, this year’s MAEA Statewide Exhibit is virtual! We are happy to share that even with the difficulties of teaching through a pandemic, 136 teachers from public, private and independent schools located in 85 different Massachusetts cities and towns submitted 756 student works of art! And these numbers don’t include work from our Massachusetts Amazing Emerging Artists Recognitions Exhibit.
Here's a main link to to YAM: https://massarted.com/youth-art-month/
And a link to our school's artwork by talented artists from Miscoe Hill: https://docs.google.com/presentation/d/1LjwjsoUStAo7px4WKMCzH5rP5XFQd6WVctDWxLcmeqo/edit#slide=id.gc7437cbe29_0_15
There's also a link to a guestbook if you'd like to add some words of encouragement to our students! https://massarted.com/2021/03/18/the-statewide-virtual-youth-art-month-exhibit-is-live/

We cant wait to get started! The 2021 Season will start in the first week of August and will go all the way through the end of October. Early registration discount goes from March 1st-31st. Regular registration this year is $190 minus the $20 early registration discount. So if you do it early its $170! Player Evaluations will most likely be at the end of July, 1st week of August. We have also opened up the option for Sunday morning games to help with the overflow of games if necessary.
Please also consider volunteering to be a coach or assistant coach. Last year we had a great turnout, but this year we expect our numbers to increase quite a bit! We will need coaches in order to handle the amount of kids so please consider volunteering!

The Clinic will run 2 days, from 4-7pm at The New England Baseball Complex(NEBC) in Northboro where we hold our games. If your child is playing baseball, this should not conflict at this time slot. We highly encourage players from all levels to participate as this will help develop and improve skills from last year. Cost is $55 per player and includes a 2021 Nipmuc Flag Football Skills Clinic Shirt! Price includes both days.
NOTE: You have to register the player for 1 of the above and add it to the cart, then you can "Register Additional Players" to add the other if you are signing up for both. That will allow you to pay for both in one checkout.

Thank you to all families who have reached out to us regarding travel plans. As you may know, the Travel Order has been changed to a Travel Advisory. Please click here to view these changes. Testing after traveling to a high risk state is no longer required but it is strongly advised.
At this time, MURSD will be following the Travel Advisory. This means we will no longer be requesting documentation of a negative PCR or Abbott BinaxNOW antigen test in order for students to return to school.
