Hello everyone! We are going to try using this format for the Parent to Parent Newsletter. We hope it makes it easier to read, easier to click on links, and saves those of us who work on this each month a little time. We are open to feedback!

Snow Make-Up Days & Spring Break

RBBCSC is in session on Monday, February 20th as a snow make-up day for Jan. 5th.

Spring Break is one week this year starting on Monday, March 13 - Friday, March 17. School resumes on Monday, March 20th.

EPS Breakfast Buddies with Real Men Read

Andrew Lambert, guest speaker, made connections with the students and their significant male guests with a childhood favorite book Lambert, the Sheepish Lion on Wednesdays 2/8 & 2/15. He presents at SES on Wednesday, 3/8!

EECC Valentine's Luncheon!

EECC hosted it's annual Valentine's Luncheon on 2/14. Students were able to invite their families to this special lunch, complete with heart activities and a slideshow! This was made possible by the Nutrition Services team and EECC staff.

Calling All Box Tops! Calling All Box Tops!

A big deadline is approaching for ALL Box Tops coordinators across the nation. The company that manages Box Tops only sends out earned checks to schools twice a year. Schools get checks in November and April. That means Box Tops must be mailed in by March 1st to receive a check in April. In order for schools to spend the money YOU helped earn on YOUR child THIS year, please check all boxes in your pantries, closets, refrigerators, and freezers so that each building can maximize their April check! (Schools will continue collecting Box Tops after March and will submit them so that Box Tops close to expiration do not go to waste. Those collected after March 1st will go towards the November check.)

EIS: Urban Air Family Night - Jump 2 hours for the price of one ($12.99). EIS PTO receives 15% of your admission! Wednesday, Feb. 22 6-8 p.m.
EIS: Chipotle (campus) Dine & Donate- EIS PTO receives 50% of your purchase! Tuesday, Feb. 28th 4-8 p.m.

Anyone in Monroe, Greene, Owen, and Brown counties are welcome!

Edgewood Early Childhood Center -- 2017 Registration

EECC will start registration for 2017/2018 on the Monday after Spring Break. You do not want to miss this opportunity! EECC offers full day classes, half day classes, and a choice of days per week your child attends (based on availability). Latch-key is also available for before and after school care. Please share this information with your friends and neighbors! EECC provides services for ALL students who are at least 3 years of age.

Event Information

EPS & SES Kindergarten Registration

If you have or know of any children who will be ready for Kindergarten in the fall of 2017, please plan to attend this registration event. Students zoned for EPS should go to EPS for this event, and students zoned for SES should go to SES for this event. Although doors open at 9:00 a.m., parents may bring their child at anytime during the 9:00 - 12:00 window.

The process takes about 20 minutes plus any wait time.

Parents need to bring their incoming K student, copy of student's birth certificate & vaccinations, and proof of residency (utility bill, bank statement, lease, etc.).

Parents will fill out necessary paperwork and online forms while the student is quickly assessed by teachers (basic color, letter, and number identification). It is usually quick and enjoyable! Please share with your friends and neighbors!

Bookshelves Needed for EJHS Library

The EJHS Library needs 4-6 tabletop bookshelves either made or donated. They would be placed on top of the Series shelves to allow more copies available for checkout. Please contact Lynda Grubb or call EJHS (812-876-2005 ext. 2345) for more specifications and/or questions. This service will be greatly appreciated!

FREE Jazzercise Classes for Women Ages 16-21 ALL YEAR!

At Jazzercise Ellettsville Studio, we feel fortunate to do business in Bloomington and Ellettsville. As a way of giving back to our community, we’re offering free classes for young women, 16-21 throughout 2017. Seriously…free all year…no strings attached! We hope to make a difference in the life of teen girls by introducing them to a healthy, fit lifestyle that can lead to improved body-image and self-esteem. These young women are our future leaders and we want to send them out into the world proudly embracing their strength and power. We’ll get fit, have fun and establish some great relationships!
