Holy Cross Catholic School
From the Desk of Dr. Wagner
January 5, 2024
The seventh graders led us in Mass on Thursday and it was a joyful way to start the second semester. Thank you Mrs. Sells's class for leading us. It seems fitting that it was the Feast Day of Saint Elizabeth Ann Seton who is the patron saint of Catholic Schools. It was a beautiful way to start the semester. We have so many great plans for the Spring Semester of 2024 and look forward to a strong finish to the school year!.
We would love for all our families to continue the journey with us for the 2024-2025 school year. Enrollment Opens on Wednesday, January 10. Holy Cross has proven to be committed to continuous improvement on the three pillars of our school: Fatih, Diversity and Academic Excellence through many acknowledgements which includes being the recipient of Archbishop Naumann's Catholic Education Foundation School of Excellence Award. Holy Cross outperformed the Diocese by 11.2% and the state by 26.2% in math and our English Language Arts program outperformed the Diocese in multiple grade levels and the state in all grade levels. We are equally as committed to the spiritual development of our students. We pride ourselves in building a partnership between our school, parish and community. Together we know our students will be prepared for the future both spiritually, socially and academically. If you have any questions please reach out to our enrollment manager, Mrs. Bridges at sbridges@holycrosscatholicschool.com. As always, we appreciate all your support you provide to Holy Cross so that we ensure we can provide the best Catholic education.
Our biggest fundraiser is coming up on February 2nd. Please help us by having your child sign up to sell raffle tickets for a chance to be principal for the day. The sign up is below.
As we anticipate inclement weather next week, all notifications will be sent out via email and the Holy Cross App. If you haven't already, please make sure you have the Holy Cross OP app that is compatible with Android and Apple devices today.
Hope you have safe and warm weekend! Good luck to all our Hornet athletes this weekend!
We need your feedback! Our goal is to continuously improve!

Please review the Digital Safety recommendations
Attached are great resource from our Screensanity including guides for Tik Tok, Snapchat and gaming from the training earlier this fall. Ensuring your children's digital safety is crucial, especially during breaks when they may have more unsupervised time online. Here are some steps to help keep your children digitally safe:
Open Communication
Set Clear Rules
Educate on Online Risks
Use Parental Controls
Monitor Social Media
Teach Responsible Online Behavior
Keep Devices in Common Areas
Set Up Family Accounts
Establish Tech-Free Times
Stay Informed
Teach Digital Literacy
Encourage Reporting
By combining these steps, you can create a safer online environment for your children and help them develop responsible digital habits. We strongly believe in a partnership with family, school and Church in helping keep our students safe and forming our children academically, socially and spiritually.
