"Stay in the Loop" 14th Edition
Letter From the Principal
For those of you who aren't St. Pius X parishioners, you may not have heard the surprising news we received a couple of weeks ago. Although Fr. Dave had every intention of spending another seven years with us at SPX, God had another plan for him. In July, he will be moving to Zanesville to be the pastor of a couple of parishes there.
Because Fr. Dave has been an incredible gift to our school and parish, it will certainly be difficult to say goodbye. With that being said, we are gaining two wonderful priests. Since Fr. Milton was previously our Associate Pastor, many of you already know that he is a kind and joyful man. While I don't know Fr. Patrick, as soon as the list of priest placements was sent to administrators, I had a principal (who had previously worked with Fr. Patrick) text me and say, "You are so lucky to get Fr. Patrick!" Another friend described him as a "gem" and a "good and holy man." This certainly helped ease my fears of the unknown!
Both Fr. Patrick and Fr. Milton have been communicating with Fr. Dave about how excited they are to be a placed at St. Pius X. I have no doubt they will be very involved with our school, and our staff and students will welcome them with open arms!

The Lenten Season
Lent is a time of almsgiving, prayer, and fasting. It is a low time in our faith journey - a time of sacrifice and remembering the suffering of our Savior. But, we have hope! Hope in the resurrection, hope for new life, hope for renewal and redemption. What grows in the low times of faith is not the same as what grows during the high times of faith. We need both seasons. It's ok to hold grief and hope in the same hand.

SPX Teachers Make Learning Irresistible!
Our kindergarten classes enjoyed a day full of fun activities to celebrate the 100th Day of School!
Our 8th graders had a paper ball fight of the Holy Spirit! After praying for the Holy Spirit to rain down the gifts they needed, everyone launched 7 gifts, collected 7 gifts, then reflected on what the Spirit was revealing.
It got a little sticky when our 5th grade Spanish students reviewed las partes del cuerpo! (parts of the body)
Valentine's Day
We LOVE Our Parents
Thanks to all of the parents who helped create fun Valentine's Day parties for our students! The kids had a BLAST! Thanks, also, to all of the parents who took time to "show the staff some love." You brought smiles to the faces of many people with your thoughtful comments! Here are just a few examples of what are parents are saying:
We are so blessed to be at SPX with such an amazing team of passionate, dedicated and loving educators. Words simply cannot express how much we appreciate everything you all do to create a great a nurturing learning environment for not just our son but for all of the SPX students. Thank you!! - Carla Easley
To all the staff at St. Pius we feel so blessed to be a part of this family. Thank you for all that you do everyday. We love coming to school and we have you all to thank for this! - Tonya Rutledge
Thank you to every person for all the love they show to our kids each day. St. Pius X is such a special place to be. - Megan Borowski
Kindergarten Screening*
During our kindergarten screenings, we had parents share why they were choosing SPX. Many new families mentioned that current families shared great things about our school and community. Word of mouth advertising is the best kind! Please continue to share the good news about SPX! We screened 58 students over the past two days, and we will have one more screening date in March, so be sure to let your friends know!
