Mr. Posick's weekly email

Well, here we are finishing up another week with a snow day. Our 7th and 8th grade staff and students took a chance and did some e-learning on Tuesday when we had our snow day. It wasn't perfect, but we took a risk, gave it a try, and learned from it. A special thanks to our 7th and 8th grade staff who spent the time putting together lessons for our students, many of them using Screencastify, an extension that allows staff to record their screen. I used Screencastify to share my Wednesday assembly message with the students so that we could have a "normal" Wednesday of learning. Here's what I shared with the kids on Tuesday. The National Junior Honor Society induction will be on Friday, February 22nd. In recognition of those students being inducted into NJHS, we are having "Dress Your Best" Day. I can't wait to see what everyone wears!

Math at Merton

Merton Intermediate School will be hosting a half day career event on Friday, April 26, 2019. The event will take place between 8:30 - 11:30 at Merton Intermediate School. We are seeking professionals to participate in either of the following options that day:

1. Speaking to students during 25 minute sessions about your career and highlighting the opportunities of your career field or company

2. Conducting Mock-Interviews with 6th - 8th grade students using provided questions.

We are hoping to give students an opportunity to explore a wide variety of career fields, so please consider sharing your time and expertise with our students!
