Orientations and Schedule Pick-up
We are very excited to involve our parents in the education process. Parents of incoming 6th graders are invited to attend our orientation on Monday, July 31 from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. Parents of our 7th and 8th graders are invited to attend our orientation on August 1 from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. For each orientation, a general meeting with all parents in our gymnasium at 6:00 p.m. in which teachers will be introduced and administration will lead an orientation.
During orientation, you may pay our required iPad Plan and materials fees ($45), pick up your schedule, purchase a yearbook ($40), and join our PTSO ($10 for the family). We accept cash in the exact amount, checks, and money orders. We ask that you print and complete the fee form (located below this article) in advance and have a separate Fee Form and check or money order for each student made out for the appropriate amount upon arrival to orientation.

If you pay online, you do not need to fill out the Fee Form below.
Additionally, at orientation, information regarding our cafeteria, bus transportation services, and after-school programs will be available. You may sign up to volunteer, join our athletic booster club, our PTSO, and/or our PVMS School Improvement Council.
Finally, please mark your calendars for our Open House on August 29 from 5:30 - 7:00 p.m.
During Open House, parents will have the opportunity to attend their child's classes and hear from the teachers. Parents will be able to ask questions and learn what goes on during a typical school day.
What's New
The 2023-24 school year has several changes from the past year:
School Time – 8:00 a.m. – 3:00 p.m.
Arrival procedures have not changed from last year. Students arriving at school by car are to be dropped off curbside in the car circle area (Roe Road Entrance) as early as 7:20 a.m. Drop-off for parents/guardians with students attending both Powdersville Elementary School and Powdersville Middle School have two choices. Middle school students may be dropped off at Powdersville Elementary and they walk across to the Powdersville Middle School bus entrance or parents may use the Roe Road car entrance to drop off their middle schooler. A crossing guard is located between the middle and elementary school to assist any middle school student walking from the elementary dropoff area in the morning.
We ask that all students are dropped off by 7:45 a.m. in order to have time to transition to their first-period class and watch our daily student-produced news program. Students are considered tardy if they arrive at their first period after 8:00 a.m.
Dismissal procedures have changed since last year. Dismissal is at 3:00 p.m. For safety concerns, all car riders are to be picked up in the car circle area (Roe Road Entrance). We are not allowing our middle schoolers to walk to the elementary school or high school for pick-up this year.
Cafeteria - Cafeteria prices for breakfast and lunch remain the same as last year.
