Flocabulary

Tech Tribe Badge Challenges allow teachers the opportunity to learn and integrate tech tools in their classrooms. Completing the challenge for a tech tool makes teachers eligible for a "Tech Tribe" badge for their work. Badges can be proudly displayed by their classroom door to let everyone know how fabulous they are at integrating technology! Teachers work hard at their own pace to complete Challenges such as Google Classroom, Google Drive, Poll Everywhere, Nearpod, Pear Deck, Plickers, Digital Citizenship, and many more. Once you have completed the challenge, complete a Badge Form to receive a Tech Tribe Badge as a reward and recognition for your commitment to moving our students toward college and career readiness.

Flocabulary is a learning program for all grades that uses educational hip-hop music to engage students and increase achievement across the curriculum. Teachers at 20,000 schools use Flocabulary’s standards-based videos, instructional activities and student creativity tools to supplement instruction and develop core literacy skills.

The educator will successfully setup a Flocabulary account, classroom, and integrate it in a lesson.

5. Flocabulary Lesson Sequence

1. Sign-up for a free account at http://flocabulary.com/signup/join/district/waxahachie-isd and select your school. (Sign-in with your Google account.)

2. Setup a classroom in Flocabulary by entering student names, or linking it to your Google Classroom.

3. Find content (video) for your lesson.

4. After watching the video, incorporate 2 or more of the lesson sequence activities in your lesson. Click here to see the Lesson Sequence Activities.

5. Make sure to check out the "Lyric Lab" under the "Create" option so your students can create their own rap.

1. Submit your Flocabulary class code in comments.

2. Submit a direct link to the Flocabulary video you used in your lesson.

3. Submit a screenshot of student submissions for each of your two activities.

4. Add comments on your experience using Flocabulary with your students.
