Mother Nature got in one more winter day on Friday, March 11. Fortunately, we are able to use AMI Days (Alternative Methods of Instruction). These prevent those inclement weather days from being added to the end of the school year calendar.

The last scheduled school day is Friday, May 27. Without the AMI Days, we would be in school until Monday, June 6. No one likes to hear that school days are extended into June.

We are getting ready to enter storm season and hopefully we get through it without storm or tornado damage that would prompt school having to be closed, but in the end, when these tough decisions have to be made, please know that everyone's safety is first and foremost.

We are in the 4th 9 Weeks!!! The snow day breaks made the 3rd 9 Weeks fly by!

The final nine weeks of each year is always busy with lots of activities on each campus. The link below will take you to a list of those activities at all campuses. These are activities that have been approved by administration. This does not include all the field trips.

This list is what we call a "live document." You can always refer to the link below to check out activities. It will remain in the Dragon Weekly through the remainder of this school year.

Personalized books can be ordered online through Friday, April 15. After that, orders can be placed through May 15 online, but can not be personalized.

If you order is paid in full, you can pick up your items on Wednesday, March 16. If you owe a balance, you can pay Ms. Erin in the high school office.

The Arkansas Department of Education’s Division of Elementary and Secondary Education is pleased to launch the ACT NOW campaign, the next generation of the No Limits campaign.

The ACT NOW campaign encourages Arkansas high school students to take advantage of opportunities to take the ACT multiple times. Taking the ACT more than one time can result in increased scores, ultimately increasing opportunities for scholarships and admission to colleges, universities, and trade schools. Taking the ACT multiple times also provides students with opportunities to reflect on what they have learned to determine the best course to prepare for life after high school.

Dragon Character Word of the Week:

Tolerance: Showing respect and getting along with people that might not be the same as you: willingness to accept feelings, habits, or beliefs that are different from your own. To be willing to accept feelings, habits and beliefs that are different from yours.

The spring semester is a very busy time for students at MHS. Seniors are gearing up to receive their diploma in May!

All year, seniors have received emails about scholarships. These have also been posted in the Class of 2022 Google Classroom that Mrs. Daniel has set up.

SENIORS AND PARENTS:

• If your senior receives confirmation that he/she is awarded a scholarship, please make a copy of that letter and have it dropped off to Mrs. Daniel.

Please contact her if you have any questions regarding your student's transcript, registering for the ACT, and scholarships.

The Mountainburg Board of Education meets the 3rd Monday of each month, 5:45 PM, Mountainburg HS Cafeteria. If a meeting has to be re-scheduledn or if a special meeting is needed, a post will be made on Facebook and the LiveFeed on the district website.
