🕹️ Esports Revolution with Dr. Ferguson
Cold and flu season has officially arrived in Prosper ISD!
In an effort to reduce the spread of illness at school, we'd like to take the opportunity to remind everyone of Prosper ISD policy regarding illness.
When to keep your child home:
Flu or COVID-like symptoms.
- When your child has a fever. The Texas Department of State Health Services considers a temperature of 100.0 ºF (37.8 ºC) or higher to be a fever. Without other symptoms or medical diagnosis, students with a fever are excluded from school until they have been fever-free for at least 24 hours, without fever-reducing medication.
- When your child has vomiting or diarrhea. Students should be excluded from school until free of vomiting and diarrhea for at least 24 hours, without medication.
What to do when your child is absent:
Parents should go to their child's campus page and choose Attendance under the Parents tab to submit an Absence Request through Skyward or to submit a doctor's note by emailing the campus attendance email address.
When submitting your child’s absence for illness, please indicate what symptoms your child has had, or if he/she has been diagnosed with the flu, strep, or COVID-19. This helps our school keep a closer eye on the amount and type of student illness for the campus!
If your child is sent home by the school nurse for illness, parents must provide the campus with either a parent note or a doctor’s note in order to excuse the absence(s) for the days that the student is absent recovering from their illness.
A total of five (5) Skyward Absence Requests can be excused as a parent note.
The G/T referral window for kinder-11th grade is now open and will close February 2, 2024 at 4pm. The assessment process (i.e. testing and gathering of data) begins after February 2nd and continues throughout the semester. We use both quantitative and qualitative data to identify students for gifted services. Ability and achievement assessment scores, along with student work and parent and teacher input are reviewed by the placement committee. 1st-11th grade students who are identified will begin services Fall 2024. Kinder students identified will begin services March 1, 2024. Please click HERE to complete and submit your form.

🚌 Love the Bus Month
February marks the month-long celebration of Love the Bus, a time to show gratitude towards the dedicated professionals who ensure the safety of students on their journey to and from school. This initiative is a meaningful way to recognize the diverse group of individuals who make the yellow school bus experience possible for students. In addition to promoting safety, Love the Bus also emphasizes the positive impact that school transportation has on education.
