NOVEMBER 16th - 20th will be our last week of in person classes through January 15th, based on guidance from the Marion County Health Department:

Monday, Wednesday, and Friday = BLACK COHORT DAYS

Tuesday, Thursday = GOLD COHORT DAYS

*Application Day students AND fully virtual students - remember to take your attendance EACH DAY in Canvas for EVERY class! Attendance is due by 11:59 PM.

CIMS Parents and Caregivers,

We shared information yesterday regarding the Marion County Health Department’s requirement to move to virtual for K-12. Our school will be virtual starting November 23rd. We know this change can be overwhelming and create many questions that need to be answered. We are working to get these answers to you as soon as possible. Please know that Creston is here for you to answer questions. Please don’t hesitate to reach out to your child’s teacher, counselor, or administrator. We may not have answers to everything at this time, but will work hard to communicate with you as soon as we do.

In order for our teachers to properly prepare for virtual learning, please note that Monday, November 23rd and Tuesday, November 24th will be eLearning days. These days will be different from virtual learning that your child will begin on Monday, November 30th. On these days students will log into Canvas and complete independent activities. Teachers will be available to answer questions from 9:00 am - 12:00 pm. Please find the most up to date information we have on this transition to virtual below.

How does this impact my child?

Students will receive their instruction through Zoom and Canvas with their current teachers.

Technology Helpdesk

If you need support with your device because it is not working or has been damaged, you can visit the helpdesk at Moorhead Community Resource Center at 8400 E. 10th Street, in back of building, from 10:00 - 2:00 Monday through Friday or submit a request here.

Internet Access

To request a T-Mobile hotspot for your student please completely fill out this form. Once your request is processed the hotspot will be delivered to your student's home school where you may pick it up.

School Schedule

Students will follow the same schedule as they do when attending in person. Students will login to their Canvas accounts to get specific information from their classroom teachers.

• 5th grade: Students will continue to follow a daily schedule. Teachers will send home a more detailed schedule with students by November 20th.

• 6th-8th grade: Students will continue to follow a Black/Gold schedule. School will send home schedules with students by November 20th.

Supplies/Books

Supplies and books will be sent home with students by November 20th.

Attendance

Student attendance will continue to be tracked by their teacher br by participation in zoom meetings. Students will continue to take their own attendance via the attendance app in Canvas on application days.

Food

We will offer food pickup locations for families to access lunch and breakfast for students during this closure as we did in the spring. We are working out details and will communicate by November 20th.

YMCA / Childcare

We are working with the YMCA so they can offer childcare to families in Warren. We are still working on this and will communicate with families and caregivers as soon as we have more information.

2nd Semester Learning Option Change Request Window

The 2nd semester learning option change request window for moving to in-person from virtual or vice versa was supposed to open today; it has been postponed. We will communicate with families and caregivers when this request window will open to communicate placement changes.

Ayer compartimos información sobre el requisito del Departamento de Salud del Condado de Marion de pasar a virtual para K-12. Sabemos que este cambio puede ser abrumador y generar muchas preguntas que necesitan respuesta. Estamos trabajando para que reciba estas respuestas lo antes posible. Acceso a Internet

Para solicitar un hotspot de T-Mobile para su estudiante, complete esta forma. Una vez que se procese su solicitud, el hotspot se enviará a la escuela de origen de su estudiante, donde podrá recogerlo.

Horario escolar

Los estudiantes seguirán el mismo horario que lo hicieron anteriormente. Los estudiantes iniciarán sesión en sus cuentas de Canvas para obtener información específica de los maestros de su aula.

• 5to: Los estudiantes continuarán siguiendo un horario diario. Los maestros enviarán a casa un horario más detallado con los estudiantes antes del 20 de noviembre.

• 6to-8vo grado: Los estudiantes continuarán siguiendo un horario Negro / Dorado. El maestro de Core Connect enviará los horarios a casa con los estudiantes antes del 20 de noviembre.

Útlies/ Libros

Los útiles y libros llegarán a casa el 20 de noviembre.

Asistencia

La asistencia de los estudiantes seguirá siendo tomada por su maestro mediante la participación en las reuniones de zoom. Los estudiantes continuarán tomando su propia asistencia a través de la aplicación de asistencia en Canvas en los días de solicitud.

Comida

Ofreceremos lugares de recogida de alimentos para que las familias accedan al almuerzo y el desayuno para los estudiantes durante este cierre como hicimos en la primavera. Estamos trabajando en los detalles y nos comunicaremos el 20 de noviembre.

YMCA / Cuidado de niños

Estamos trabajando con la YMCA para que puedan ofrecer cuidado de niños a las familias de Warren. Todavía estamos trabajando en esto y nos comunicaremos con las familias y los tutores tan pronto como tengamos más información.

El período de solicitud de transición del segundo semestre

Please note that in order to follow guidance from the Marion County Public Health Department, we will be limiting spectators at all upcoming athletic events to PARENTS and GUARDIANS of our current student athletes ONLY.

This adjustment takes effect beginning Monday, November 16th. Only the parents/guardians of basketball players and cheerleaders will be permitted into the game; your athletes will be bringing home more information related to this after Monday evening’s practice. Again, only parents and guardians may attend - we cannot safely accommodate younger siblings, Creston students who are not athletes, extended family, or friends. We appreciate your understanding of this.
