Community Update from Principal Griffin
Dear Erie High School families,
I hope that you all had a great week - we enjoyed another outstanding week of learning for our students. It is great to see students, faculty, and staff settling into their routines and accelerate learning and achievement as we proceed towards the middle of the 2nd semester. Thank you for your continued partnership in support of the success of your child(ren).
Wednesday, February 14th is a big day at Erie High School. Our 9th, 10th, and 11th grade students will be completing practice SAT tests during the morning. This is an important opportunity for our students to gain experience with the new digital SAT format and to practice SAT test-taking. I encourage all of our students completing the practice test to put their best foot forward and give maximum effort to this practice test session. We are only about two months away from the official statewide SAT / PSAT testing day for our students, so this practice opportunity is very timely. 12th grade students will have a day of asynchronous, remote learning on February 14th.
In the afternoon/evening of February 14th, we are hosting our annual 2nd semester parent-teacher conferences from 3:45 - 6:45 pm. This is an important opportunity for parents/guardians and teachers to collaborate in support of student academic success. Teachers will be stationed in the main and auxiliary gymnasiums for arena-style conferences. There are no appointments needed - parents/families should just plan to arrive within our conference timeframe and meet with their child’s teachers in the gym. We ask all teachers and families to work together to keep individual conferences to no more than 5 minutes in length.
I appreciate the Erie High School Boosters support of our teachers for Parent-Teacher Conferences. The Boosters have organized to provide dinner for the teachers during this event. Erie High School families can support this faculty dinner by providing drinks and desserts. Please sign up here if you can contribute to this dinner for our dedicated teachers. Thank you EHS Boosters for your incredible support of Erie High School students, faculty, and staff!
I hope you all enjoy a restful, relaxing weekend. Thank you for your support of our great school!
Sincerely,
Josh Griffin
