Blair Oaks High School - August 21
First Day of School
Monday, August 24, 2020, 8:04 a.m.
What you can expect on the 1st day of school
Guidelines were sent out earlier this week, but here are a few more that pertain to the high school. If you have any questions, please don't hesitate to contact Melinda, maholt@blairoaks.org.
Guidelines for Returning to School
- Lunch - Food service staff will key in all lunch numbers to eliminate students touching the keypad. Food service will also give students utensils as they go through the line.
- Water Bottles - Don't forget those water bottles and don't forget to have your student's name written on it.
- Choir - Weather permitting, choir classes will be held outside when singing. Other musical activities will be integrated that don't necessarily involve singing.
- Band - Weather permitting, band classes will be held outside. The classroom will be rearranged to best fit instrument types while also providing social distancing.
- PE - Weather permitting, classes will be held outside. Only 10 students will change in the locker rooms at a time. Equipment will be wiped down in the weight room hourly.
- Classrooms - all students will be facing forward; if students are working in groups, they will be required to wear a mask
- Hallways - staff and students are required to wear a mask anytime they are in the hall - this includes before and after school
- Visitors - we are limiting all visitors to the building; you can still drop off items left at home, but we may have you leave them outside the office
First Day of School Procedures
- Bring charged Chromebooks on the first day.
- Report directly to 1st hour classroom when arriving on campus. Hallways open at 7:30 a.m.
- Deposit lunch money in the cafeteria but then report to 1st hour.
- Students may eat breakfast in the cafeteria but will be expected to go to their first hour when they are finished eating.

- First hour bell rings at 8:04 a.m. Don't be late!
Food & Visitor Limitations
- Food may not be brought to school and shared with others.
- No student lunch deliveries will be accepted this year.
Food cannot be dropped off before or during lunch shifts. - Visitors and parents are asked to call the high school office to make arrangements prior to arriving at the building. Non-essential visitors will be restricted from entering the building.
