The Bearcat Bulletin
September 21, 2020
Message from the Principal
Can you believe we have completed two weeks of school already? Before you know it, we will be making plans for the Fall and Winter holidays! I just want to thank all of you for your support and encouragement. We are doing our best to make this school year the best year yet in spite of the the obstacles that we are facing. September is Childhood Cancer Awareness Month - a special month for me. We are kicking off a fundraiser in honor of my daughter Armani, who lost her battle with Ewings Sarcoma in 2018. This issue of The Bearcat Bulletin will focus on you getting to know some our Lamar Bearcat teachers and staff with important announcements and information.
With gratitude,
Ms. Bradford

Library Services
My name is Sherry Burnett, and I proudly serve as your librarian at Lamar. I am starting my 8th year here. I am a Temple High school graduate. GO CATS!!! My family resides here and we love Temple. Before becoming a librarian, I taught 17 years in elementary. I really love my job and feel like it’s the absolute best part of being a teacher. I found my love of reading later in my adult life and love to have book talks with kids! Literacy is the building block for all jobs and subjects.
The library isn’t what it used to be. We provide opportunities for our Bearcats to explore new things and meet new people. There is something for everyone, and everyone is welcome!
The new library is amazing! I hope that you will stop by and look and maybe even get a book for yourself! After all, you are your child’s first teacher! In this newsletter, I will be sharing with you ideas, books, events, thoughts so much more! Stay tuned! If you have any questions or need to reach me, my email address is sherry.burnett@tisd.org and my phone number is 254-215-6454. I’d love to help and hear from you!
