Liberty Park Elementary School Newsletter
Friday, November 6th
Dear Liberty Park Families,
We appreciate your support in helping ensure that that your child(ren) come to school every day with a clean and durable mask. Students received a mask from school earlier in the year. We have seen a growing number of students not wearing masks in the car rider line as well as students not wanting to wear their masks correctly during the day. Please help remind your student(s) the importance of bringing and wearing a mask correctly each day. Remember, washing masks regularly is important!
We are getting ready for our next transition! For those families wanting to transition their classroom environment from in-person to virtual or visa-versa, the window will be open from Nov 13 to Nov 24th @ 3PM. This will be the last opportunity to change your classroom environment for the 20-21 school year. The decision families make will be for the entirety of 2nd semester (3rd and 4th quarters). It is important that families communicate their desired transition as soon as the window opens. If you are not requesting a change, there is nothing you need to do. The link to request a change will be shared on our website, social media, as well as our Patriot Press newsletter. Please contact our front office if we can be of any assistance with this process.
As always, I thank you for your continued support of Liberty Park Elementary! Take care, be safe, and have a great weekend!
Your Principal,
Jason Brooks

Q2 to Q3 & Q4 Virtual Transition
- We are getting ready for our next transition! For those families wanting to transition their classroom environment from in-person to virtual or visa-versa, the window will be open from Nov 13 to Nov 24th @3PM.
- This will be the last opportunity to change your classroom environment for the 20-21 school year. The decision families make will be for the entirety of 2nd semester (3rd and 4th quarters). It is important that families communicate their desired transition as soon as the window opens. We recommend that you inform your school as soon as possible so that we can begin planning for your students’ needs.
Notes from Nurse Kelly
- Liberty Park Clinic received some "goodie bags". Each bag includes hat/gloves, hand soap, kleenex, toothpaste, hand sanitizer, toothbrush, lotion, lip balm. If your student wants a "goodie bag" please email the nurse at kwoods1@warren.k12.in.us OR call the nurse at 317-532-1855 and a bag will be sent home with your student.
- If your student was exposed to a COVID POSITIVE person, and is a close contact, please remember that student must be quarantined for 14 days from the date of last exposure before returning to school. This includes students who have no symptoms. If you have any questions, please call Nurse Kelly at 317-532-1855.
- If your student is absent due to illness, please let the school know the reason for the absence. We are being very diligent in following the new COVID rules for allowing children to return to school after having an illness. We want to keep everyone safe.
- COVID Testing Sites for Students: If you feel you need to have your student tested for COVID here are a couple of sites who do testing on students. These are on the Southside, I have not gotten a list for the east side yet.
WALMART - GREENWOOD - Register over the phone at 1-800-635-8611. NO CHARGE. Tests any age.
INDIANA IMMEDIATE CARE (US 31 across from Walmart) - Register over the phone upon arrival in the parking lot (317-883-7712). NO CHARGE. They have Spanish/Burmese/Chinese interpreters. Tests age 5 and up.
Virtual Families: Attendance for Virtual Students - Attendance App
K-4
All virtual students are now required to log-in to Canvas to validate their attendance every day of school. This includes direct instruction days, application days, and academic enrichment days. Please help your student log-in and submit their attendance each day.
1. Open the app called “V attendance” on your student’s iPad. It is black with a gold check mark.
2. Click the red button that says “Log into Google” to sign into the student’s google account. This is the same email and password that students use to log into Clever. Not sure about what this login information is? Email me!
3. You should now be logged into Canvas. Click on the box that says “Period 1”. It is outlined in yellow.
4. It will come up with a question about whether or not your student is attending that day. Click yes.
5. Click submit. You did it!
You may also continue to login through the Canvas app if it has been working for you. Please reach out with any questions! Thanks!
Virtual Families: Having Technology Issues?
Beginning Monday, October 26th the Moorhead technology help desk will move to door 11 at the rear of the building located near the playground. Please drive through the gate on the west side of the building and, after parking, enter door 11 for assistance. The Technology team will keep the same hours for the help desk: Monday through Friday (except holidays) from 11am to 1pm.
If you are having tech issues, please contact the help desk:
School Dismissal Manager
LP uses School Dismissal Manager to report student absences and set up end of day transportation routines for students. You should have received an email last week with your personalized login information. Please remember to set your students dismissal option in the School Dismissal Manager via the smartphone app or website. If you need any assistance logging in or using the system please contact our front office staff.

SCHOOL DISTRICT PUBLICATIONS/NEWS MEDIA USE
The occasion may arise when the school district wants to recognize your child or your child's school. This may include your child's photo, your child's name or your child's work in district publications, newsletters, on school district websites, and in electronic/social media or in staff training videos. We may also want to tell the media (including newspapers, television, and radio) about your child's achievements. We never knowingly release information about a student to anyone who wants to use it for commercial/political purposes. However, we will honor your request to not include your child in these types of recognitions if you notify your child's school office in writing that you do not want this type of information released.
