Message from East Hill Principal
Dear East Hill Elementary School Families,
We hope this newsletter finds you well and that your families had a fantastic Halloween celebration! It was a week filled with excitement and joy as we organized our annual Halloween parade and parties, as well as began preparations for our Veterans Day assembly that took place this afternoon.
Our students had an amazing time during our Halloween parade and parties last week. The creativity and enthusiasm displayed by our students were truly remarkable! A huge thank you to our PTA, staff, and all the parents and volunteers who helped make the day a memorable one. We are so proud of our students and their incredible costumes.
East Hill hosted a wonderful assembly today to honor Veterans Day. We wore red, white, and blue and welcomed some very important guests that were able to tell us about their service to our country. This was truly a special occasion for our students to honor and express their gratitude to the brave men and women who have served in the armed forces. A big thank you to Ms. O'Keefe for planning and facilitating this event!
I have included lots of pictures below for you to enjoy.
Enjoy the weekend!
~Susan

Picture Retakes
As you may be aware you can submit daily absences in ParentVUE. It is important to submit these absences by 9:30 am each day. If you are submitting after 9:30 am for the current day please call or email ...(put your information that matches your school). Below you will find some important instructions for how to use the "Report Absence" function within ParentVUE.
Submission Instructions:
1. Click "Report Absence"
2. Enter the date that the student is or will be absent. If they will only be absent one day the end date should match the start date. If the student will be out multiple days the end date should be the last date they will be absent before returning back to school.
3. Select a reason.
4. Enter the reason in the "Note" box. This is important and is required to verify the reason for absence.
Positivity Project
Next week's Positive Project character trait focus is Bravery. Click here to preview what the students will be learning about.
Cold Weather Gear
The cooler weather is upon us! Please keep in mind that our students will continue to go outside for recess daily. If the temperature is 20 degrees Fahrenheit or above, recess can take place outside. If the temperature is below 20 degrees Fahrenheit (this includes factoring in the WINDCHILL), recess will be indoors. Students should always have appropriate clothing for the weather each day: Coat, boots, snow pants, hat, and gloves.
Also, please remember to label your child's cold-weather clothing. You will be so glad you did!
