Social Media Safety
Parents learned about the dangers of Snapchat, TikTok, Instagram, YouTube, and many other apps, as well as, the impact that gaming, social media, and screen addiction have on children. The parents were given some tools to help police their children's phone use. See below for some sites that may help you protect your child.

5th Grade LEGO Mission to Mars
1st Grade Project
Ms. Choj's 1st grade class celebrated Holi with a class project. Students spent their morning learning about the origin of this fun celebration. Ms. Surana (class mom) read a book titled "The Festival of Colors". Then, students made cut-outs of their hands and created their own henna designs. Ms. Surana showed students what the colorful powders used during Holi look and feel like and how they are used. Later, students collaborated on coloring Holi inspired artwork.
Huber Street School Art Projects
In 2nd grade, students created Mexican Folk Art that resembled traditional tree bark paintings. Students drew elements from nature and used neon acrylic paint on their masterpieces.
In 3rd grade, students created Lucky Cats with Chinese symbols. Students enjoyed practicing how to write Chinese words with gold paint for this project.
Meanwhile, over in 4th grade, students learned about Aztec style artwork and paper weaving. First, students used watercolor paint to create an abstract painting. Then, students learned how to create an interwoven piece of art. We are so inspired by artists from all around the world!
Kindergarten students learned about Holi, an Indian holiday also referred to as “The Festival of Colors.” Students created Henna patterns on their traced hands, while focusing on how to create intricate patterns and details. Students gained inspiration from Indian culture and had a great time exploring their art styles.
