MBIT Open House
Middle Bucks Institute of Technology is hosting an open house on December 6 from 6:00-8:00 p.m. Check out the flyer below for more information. While students may not attend MBIT until 10th grade, hearing about the program and having a visit is worth the trip! Log College's 8th grade students will all visit as a class this Spring.
ELD Thanksgiving Feast
For many of Log College's students, this is their first (or second) Thanksgiving. Log has recently begun a tradition of hosting a Thanksgiving celebration with these students in order to share in the festivities.
BINGO
Check out some pics from our Fall Fundraiser BINGO party.
Academic Lit. with Mrs. Costello
Students in Mrs. Costello’s Day 1 Period 3 Academic Literacy class explored the theme of gratitude. Students read and discussed the poem “Gratitude” by Jennifer Dignan in Scholastic’s Action magazine. The students were provided with the chance to compose their own poem or letter expressing gratitude. The students’ responses were sincere and thoughtful--truly heart-warming.
6th Grade Social Studies with Mr. Stanfield
Mr. Stanfield's SS classes have been reading "Refugee" by Alan Gratz as a part of our One Book One School Unit. Students chose one of the main characters and completed an activity where they investigated character traits through actions or quotes. The historical fiction book follows three refugees as they struggle on their journeys to leave home and find safety for themselves and their families in three different points of history.
LCMS Counseling Department
The Counseling Department has been hosting a 6th Grade Girls Circle Program which meets one time a week for 8 to 9 weeks.
The focus of the group is for students to develop and enhance strong positive friendships and peer relations. During the weekly meetings students complete hands-on activities that are fun and thought provoking.
Some of the topics are:
Being My Own Friend First
Being Included, Being Left Out
Our Qualities & Strengths
Feuds, Followers, and Fairness
It’s evident that students are very enthused to meet each week and see what new activity will be presented. A key to developing strong positive peer relationships is becoming self-aware. One activity recently completed is “Qualities I Possess”.
Winter Sports
Dear Log College Families,
Winter Sports season is quickly approaching here at Log College. The Winter sports season runs from November through February and features four sports open to our 7th and 8th-grade students. Log College will be offering Boys Basketball, Girls Basketball, Wrestling, and Cheerleading. We are pleased to announce that, for the first time (if enough students try out), we will have Junior Varsity (JV) teams for both boys and girls basketball, providing more students with the opportunity to participate in winter sports. It's important to note that these are not exclusively 7th or 8th-grade teams but are composed of a mix of both grades.
If your child is planning to participate in any of these sports, he/she must have a physical. No student may play or practice until a physical has been received.
PIAA sports physical -
All students must have a completed PIAA physical (dated after June 1, 2023). The physical forms can be downloaded from the link - PIAA Physical Form - Updated 3/22/23 (or you can pick one up from Mr. Corey, our athletic director or any LCMS coaches).
If you have already played a sport in the Fall, you do not need to complete a new physical, but you must re-submit section 7 (Re-certification by parent/guardian) from the PIAA physical form. This page does not require seeing a doctor or medical provider.
If you did not submit a PIAA physical in the Fall, you must complete Sections 1 to 5 within the PIAA sports physical packet. This must be completed and signed by a parent or guardian. Section 6 must be completed by an authorized medical examiner (family doctor, urgent care, minute clinic). You can ignore pages 7-8.
If you cannot find an appointment time with your doctor, you may use another provider or visit a CVS Minute Clinic or visit an Urgent Care center. The Centennial School District has a partnership with Liberty Urgent Care:
If you use any of the following Liberty Urgent Care centers and mention Centennial SD, your physical will only cost $20. (Locations listed below)
