These camps help develop skills while having fun. In addition to sports activities, Comal Summer offers opportunities for students to gain skills and be active in fine arts including dance, theatre and music camps. Sharpen Reading, Writing, Math, Science Skills with Games, Apps and More
During these lazy summer days, it is important to continue to sharpen students' academic skills just as they build strength and endurance. Comal ISD has organized home activities for every grade level in order to sharpen those academic muscles. The brain, just like the muscles, should be exercised daily to perform at its best. Through Comal Summer, families are encouraged to maintain a schedule that encourages academic enrichment, reading for pleasure as well as physical activity.
Summer Learning Opportunities have been posted and are listed by incoming grade levels. These opportunities provide fun and engaging activities which will benefit every student.
Comal Reads Summer Edition - Take the Challenge: Log Reading Hours, Win Prizes
One of the best ways to keep learning is through reading, and Comal ISD is encouraging every student to dive into reading this summer. To make reading a little more fun, the district is offering the Comal ISD Summer Reading Challenge. To participate, students complete the tasks which are noted in the squares on the Challenge Board before the first day of school. It's easy. They keep track of what they have read by marking the square when a task is done, and remember to take the completed Summer Reading Challenge Board to school on the first day. Campuses with the highest number of completed Challenge Boards will win prizes.
Find more reading challenges and prizes from local businesses including H-E-B, Chick-Fil-A, Pizza Hut and more on the Comal Reads section of Comal Summer.
