HIGH SCHOOL PARENT NEWSLETTER
Week of February 28th
Happy Weekend Parents and Guardians!
I hope that each of you was able to stay safe and warm during the last couple of days of inclement weather. Our improvement of policies and procedures continues to move in the right direction; we are now not seeing many phones on top of desks and tables during our daily walkthroughs, and instruction continues to improve as well. Our ask is that you continue to communicate with your scholar the importance of following rules, being polite when agreeing and disagreeing with adults, and enjoy their learning. We are two weeks away from closing quarter 3, and we want you to ask scholars the following questions:
- How satisfied are you with your academic performance?
- Have you accomplished the quarter goals?
- Have you taken advantage of the help offered by your teachers?
- What is your plan to successfully close out this quarter?
- How will this quarter’s performance help you be prepared for college?
It is important that you and your scholar discuss your scholars’ GPA. If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to reach out!
Thank you,
Mauricio Dominguez

Refer A Friend
We encourage existing Luna families to refer their friends, family members, colleagues, neighbors, etc. to join our incredible Luna family. We want more and more children in the DFW metroplex to have access to the high-quality education that they deserve and that Luna provides.
Have your friends and family visit www.uplifteducation.org/apply to complete a free application- it takes just 5 minutes. We hope you can help spread the Luna spirit in your community and help us welcome more and more smiling Luna scholars to our campus.
Parent Volunteers Needed Soon
Parent volunteers offer a huge resource and support base for Luna. They also show our scholars the importance of participating in the larger community. Even if you haven't been involved in the past, it's never too late to start. In fact, it is very important than ever to get involved when scholars reach secondary school. Working with teachers, administrators, and other parents will help you understand your scholar's daily activities. You'll also tap into trends and fads of school life that can help you communicate with your scholar as they grow and change. We will have volunteer opportunities coming soon to Luna but you must register first to volunteer. We hope to see you on campus soon!
