Dear Parents,
We have one more day of school left and our Senators are ready for summer break! We are so proud of the hard work they have done.
This year at the middle schools, we began adding support to our students in English and math through an extended block model. We will continue that this year. However, we have made a few small changes to serve our students better and allow teachers the planning time to ensure that instruction is better tailored to their needs.
We are modifying the schedules at Robinson Middle, Maumelle Middle, and Sylvan Hills Middle to better support science, social studies, and electives by increasing the number of minutes in those classes. Just as they have this year, students will have the same opportunities for electives. In addition, each school will also have one day each week when they will have an advisory and an opportunity for students to participate in clubs and activities.
We hope that these changes will better serve the students and professionals in our schools.
