Pirates Post
Week of: Sept. 5th
Message from Principal Drew...
We had a great start to the school year and we are looking forward to another great week ahead.
As we look toward the coming week please be aware that we share a weekly newsletter called the Pirates Post. This newsletter includes school wide as well as departmental updates on everything happening at PCHS. It is shared each week with our students via their email address as well as on our Facebook page. We encourage you to review this each week to stay up to date on events and opportunities at PCHS.
Fall sports pictures will be this Wednesday September 7, 2022. Athletes will need to bring their picture form and money on this day in order to purchase pictures for the Fall sports season. Football, Soccer, Cheerleading, Volleyball and Cross Country will all have their pictures taken on this day. Athletes should bring their uniforms to school for these photos.
A couple of reminders as we enter week two about personal electronics and dress code.
Cell phones must be put away during all classes. This means that the cell phone should not be visible or in use at any time in class. They may be used during before 8:05 AM, during lunch and during transitions and after 3:05 PM. Earbuds or headphones may only be used before 8:05 AM, during lunch and after 3:05 PM. They should not be used at any other time during the school day.
The PCHS dress code policy has been updated and can be found in our student handbook which was shared with each student on the first day of school via their email. Students found to be noncompliant with the dress code will be asked to changed. Students that need to change can access our clothes closet for appropriate attire if they do not have anything with them to change into at school. A phone call can also be made to have appropriate clothes delivered to school for the student to change. Parents we appreciate your support in making sure that students do not lose valuable instructional time due to dress code issues.
We have several upcoming events that you will want to be aware of at PCHS:
Monday 9/5 - We will celebrate the Labor Day holiday. There is no school on this day for students and staff.
Tuesday 9/6 - JV Volleyball will host Edenton at 4:30 PM and Varsity volleyball will host NECP at 6:00 PM.
Wednesday 9/7 - Soccer will host NEAAT at 5:00 PM. Fall sports pictures will also be on this date.
Thursday 9/8 - Cross Country will run at NECP at 4:00 PM, Varsity Volleyball will play at Washington County at 5:00 PM and JV Football will host Washington Pam Pack at 6:30 PM.
Friday 9/9 - Varsity Football will play at Portsmouth Christian at 7:00 PM.
The first week is in the books and what a great week it was. Students and staff were back to work and doing great things from the very beginning. Week two presents another opportunity each day for individual and school wide success. Let's make the most of the next four days and be better on Friday than we are today.
Thanks for listening. Go Pirates!
