Checking in with FFA
We caught up with Mr. Ukkelberg to ask him a few questions about FFA, take a look at what he had to say!
FFA is an intercurricular student organization for those interested in agriculture & leadership.
Why should people join FFA?
Through FFA, students strengthen their personal skills, learn to manage their time & discover how to respect themselves & others.
What are some benefits you get when joining FFA?
FFA has plenty of fun events from the fall festival, to the petting zoo, & various trips throughout the year.
What is your favorite competition?
My favorite competition is "Milk Quality" because it was the competition that I competed in when I was in high school. Plus, you get to eat lots of cheese & I love cheese!
What is your favorite subject to teach?
My favorite subject to teach is "Farm to Table" because we get to eat what we grow!
How long have you been involved with FFA?
I was in FFA all 6 years of high school and all 4 years of college.
How has FFA gone so far this year?
FFA has been going great this year. We already have a few teams going to state & we have even more on the way!
What is the most popular competition?
The most popular competitions in our region of FFA are either small animals or livestock. People love to work with animals!
If you could redo one thing for anything FFA related what would it be?
I would love to go back to nationals. It is a fun time with great people where you get to learn so much about the agriculture industry.
