Happy Thanksgiving!

Mustang Families,

We hope you are all enjoying this Thanksgiving break with your loved ones! This holiday provides us all the change to take a deep breath and reflect on how truly fortunate we are for our happiness, health and daily opportunity to work with our greatness resource and most precious gifts- our scholars! I am so proud of our entire school learning community and our ability to partner our passionate and dedicated staff with each of you to live our mission and support our scholars to their fullest potential! On behalf of our entire OLHMS staff and D123 learning community, Happy Thanksgiving!

Our Second Trimester has begun and here are a few reminders:

Report Cards: Here is the LINK for support. Trimester 1 reports will not be printed and can be located on Family Access.

Chromebooks: Please make sure these are charged and ready for school on Monday!

Cell Phones: Please remind our scholars that cel phones should be turned off and locked in their lockers daily.

Chewing Gum: We have been finding too much chewing gum in places it should be, please remind scholars that they should not has gum at school and it should be disposed on properly and respectfully.

NJHS: There will be an informational meeting for interested scholars on December 21st! Mark your calendars! Here is the informational LINK.

Food Drive Donations: Thank you to everyone who helped us donate just under 1,000 canned goods for Thanksgiving! Unfortunately, our rivals in Oak Lawn, Simmons beat us in the competition, but we all won with the donations generated!

Trimester 2 Clubs and Activities: Sign ups have closed and clubs will begin when we return from this break.

Yearbook Contest: Contest Information The yearbook cover contest is currently happening with entries due Wednesday, November 30th (after Thanksgiving break).

Spectator Permission Form and Code of Conduct: We love seeing student spectators. Please use the link to print if you wish to allow your student to cheer on their classmates. Please note, student who are unable to follow our Mustang Musts may be asked to leave or unable to attend.

Skyward Family Access: Make sure you are checking/ logging into Skyward Family Access routinely. This is a great place to obtain supportive information such as student's courses, bus routes, student fees/ debts.

OLHMS PTSA: Next Meeting 1/9/23

All staff and families are highly encouraged to join the PTSA and attend meetings. This is an incredible opportunity, partnership and fun way to support our scholar’s experience at the middle school!

Our PTSA is in search of a new Vice President for the rest of the school year. This role is an important part of our board, and if you are interested in learning more about this position and what it requires please reach out.
Our bylaws state, The vice president(s) shall act as aide(s) to the president, and shall in their designated order perform the duties of the president in the absence or inability of that officer to serve.
