A message from Mrs. Todd
This week my heart has been a little heavy as I discover more and more students who are struggling with something. Stressed out about math, parents getting a divorce, dog that just died, grandparent who is sick, anxiety filled nights, hectic mornings, uncertainty, friendship issues, the list goes on. As a principal, it's a terrible feeling to know that I cannot simply meet all the needs of our students at any given time. I want to, but it's just not realistic.
You know who can meet those needs though?! YOU! Please set some time aside in the next couple of days to check in on your Riebli Panther. Set down your devices, throw out your traditional dinner plans, rearrange your work day, whatever making time looks like for you, make it. Our students need the adults in their lives to just stop and be present. Listen, read, snuggle, talk, laugh, listen some more. And then calendar another special moment for next week. They don't need much, these little ones. But they do need to be heard and seen and loved SO hard. You'll never regret it.
XO,
Emily
Panthers Paws are missing
If you are the family who currently has the paws for "Panther Paws" where you "Paw" your home, please bring them to the Riebli Office.
Thanks
Clothes will be donated on Friday, February 24!
Illness reminder
If your child is out sick or, if they are sent home sick, we require a negative COVID test before they can return. Results should be sent to the Lisa Greco, lgreco@mwusd.org. If you do not have access to a test, we are more than happy to provide one for the parent to administer, upon request.
Cell phone and smart watch reminder!
Dear Parents,
Over the past year or so, we've had several cases of students using communication devices during school hours. They may be used outside school hours. Cell phones and smart watches are allowed at school, but may not be used to contact others, including parents. It is possible that you, or your child was unaware of this policy. If your child needs to contact you, they can come to the office, if you need to get a message to them, please call or email the office. I'm attaching the Mark West School District policy on personal devices for your reference. If you have any questions, please contact me.
"Students may bring personal technology, including computers, smart phones, network access devices, or other electronic signaling devices to school provided that such technology is used for instructional purposes. Students shall abide by the instructions provided by teachers and other school staff in the use of such personal technologies. Access to the Internet or other District communication systems from personal technology is limited to wireless access points on the school campuses or other access devices away from school. Access to the Internet or other District communication systems from personal technology is not available via hardwire connections."
