Know the Truth
"Then you will know the truth and the truth will set you free." John 8:32
A Message from Dr. Marquardt
“I lift up my eyes to the mountains—where does my help come from? My help comes from the Lord, the Maker of heaven and earth.” Psalm 121:1-2
Almost everywhere in Orange County, the last few weeks, you can see snow on the local hills and mountains…a very rare occurrence! The majesty of our God is evident in this beautiful display! Some of you may have even enjoyed a “snow day” with your family and friends recently.
Where do you go for help when you need it; what do children witness in this regard? If you have a flat tire, you call AAA. If you have a clogged drain, you call a plumber (or maybe your spouse!). Where do we go for help when our world seems to be falling apart? Who is the expert in matters of life? The Psalmist makes it very clear when he says, “(Our) help comes from the Lord!” There is never a time when we are outside the loving care of our Heavenly Father. We never face our trials and temptations alone. He stands guard over our lives. He is our keeper, our Hope! He does not slumber nor sleep. He preserves our souls. His love is unconditional. God has promised victory and blessing to all who trust Him with their lives. It is a matter of urgency, then, that we live our lives in this refreshing knowledge! It is a matter of urgency that we share this HOPE and PROMISE with our children, friends, and neighbors! Let’s clearly demonstrate to everyone around us, and be reminded again when we see those snow-covered hills and mountains in our view …where does our help come from? “Our help comes from the Lord, the Maker of heaven and earth.”
This March newsletter is full of fun and exciting information about all aspects of the church and school ministry here at Red Hill Lutheran. Please spend some time to careful read and respond as necessary to items pertaining to your family. March Chapel & Philanthropy
Bible Verse: "Therefore, having put away falsehood, let each one of you speak the truth with his neighbor, for we are members of one another." Ephesians 4:25
Philanthropy: CRU
MARCH PHILANTHROPY: CRU
This month we are going to support Red Hill Lutheran School Alumna and CRU missionary Ruth (St.George) Holland. She and her husband Ryan are both missionaries sharing the Gospel to college students while working for an organization called CRU that works on college campuses all around the world. They are both working at Oregon State University. This month we are going to:
● Collect money to buy Easter Candy Bags for them to give to college students. Each bag will
cost $2.50 and our goal is 500 bags.
● Pray for Ruth and Ryan that God would help them in their work.
● Write notes and Bible verses that can be put in the candy bags.
● Hear from Ruth about her time at Red Hill - what was her favorite class? What did she like to
play on the playground? When did she first start thinking about becoming a missionary?
Send other questions that you have to Miss. Caroline.
● Send a fun care package and letters to Ruth and Ryan to encourage them and thank them for serving God this way.
From Ruth: “This year Ryan and I are working with students at Oregon State University. I am excited about meeting students and connecting them to Christ. We want students to Know Jesus, Grow in their faith, and Go to the world equipped to share the good news of Jesus Christ. Thank you for your partnership and support!”

Kindergarten through 5th Grade, during our 10:00am worship service. Check-In begins at 9:45am in the K.I.D.S. Zone.
Using a combination of large group and small group conversations and activities, we intentionally strive to create an engaging environment where children come to Know Jesus, Impact the world around them, become Disciples of Jesus, and Serve others - K.I.D.S.! All kids are invited to join us, regardless of church affiliation.
K.I.D.S. Ministry Teaching Series – CHANGING GEARS
A 4-WEEK STUDY FROM THE NEW TESTAMENT on JESUS’ MINISTRY
Clank! Beep! Clunk! Kids love robots, especially ones that can transform into something new or have really cool abilities. In this four-week series from Jesus’ ministry on earth, you’ll introduce kids to a different story each week that shows us how God’s truths never change, but Jesus changes everything — including us! We’ll see that we change when we know who God is, our past doesn’t change God’s love for us, and that Jesus changes how we see things because Jesus can change anything!
Middle School Ministry Teaching Series – FOCUS
A 4-WEEK STUDY FROM THE GOSPELS & PSALMS ON SPIRITUAL GROWTH
It’s not easy to stay focused. Especially these days, when we’re connected to a never-ending stream of new notifications, ads, messages, videos, posts, and entertainment, it makes sense if we feel a little distracted sometimes. Maybe you’ve struggled recently to stay focused on your homework, or on the story your friend was telling you, or on the movie you were watching — but have you ever struggled to stay focused when you
were spending time with God? In this four-week series, we’re going to get honest about how difficult it can be to stay focused when we’re trying to pray, read the Bible, or grow in our faith. Each week, we’ll explore passages from Psalms and the Gospels as we challenge ourselves to focus on practicing four spiritual disciplines that can help us grow. Together, we’ll try focusing on what God has said, on giving something up, on talking to God, and on rest.
Summer Camps
Both High School students and Middle School students are heading to Forest Home this summer for a great adventure. Registration for both of these events is now open. Register early for a “early bird discount”! Visit www.redhillchurch.org/youth-family or contact Phil Gaylor at pgaylor@redhillchurch.org with any questions.
