OUR EXISTENCE:
True color museum is one of the earliest private art museums in China and the first private art museum in Suzhou as well. In April 2004, just in the early summer, the construction of true color museum was started nearby the Guoxiang canal in Suzhou and completed in two years, with the total area about 4 acres.
More than two million old bricks that came from the demolished ancient buildings were used to decorate the museum's exterior walls, which allowed the museum to combine modern modeling and structure with classical style to commemorate history and inherit oriental culture.
Nowadays, true color museum has been nearly 17 years in this world. As this museum's director, Hanxing Chen said: only do one thing well in our life. And the museum’s idea that has been exploring the culture and spirit of human beings, looking for meanings and values from our heart and soul consistently.
From the earliest little-known concrete shell to nowadays gradually famous tourist site, our museum has built our special brand and gained more attention through social platforms, communities and art activities.
Tea ceremony:
We have invited tea ceremony instructors from Japan to offer a long-term course about Chinese tea ceremony and Japanese tea ceremony to our participants, and lead them to explore and practice. Sometimes, drinking tea is not simple, its process is complex. When we focus on the process of the tea ceremony, we will forget our troubles, and our bodies and minds will enter a beautiful and enjoyable state.
The art of ikebana:
The art of ikebana, or flower arrangement, seeks to create a harmony of linear construction, rhythm, and color. By instructing students how to make flower arrangement and appreciate the existence of beauty, which can reduce the pressure of modern people in busy career and trivial domestic life.
The art market nearby the bridge:
This activity is our original creation.
We organize a three-day market every month, by the bridge, along the river. The theme is nature and originality, do a warm and emotional gathering. We will recruit sellers in advance, and we will also provide tea, snacks and musical instruments for participants in this market.
Chinese classical musical instrument concert:
We pursue diversified art forms that hold concerts of Chinese classical musical instruments, combined with classical dance art, to give the audience a unique experience.
Art Exhibition:
The difference between our art museum and other public art museum is that we seldom hold exhibitions of famous artists. We pay more attention to holding individual exhibitions and planning exhibitions suitable for young artists. Moreover, we are good at holding delicate small exhibitions, including various forms of painting, sculpture, calligraphy, photography, etc. Multiple venues hold exhibitions at the same time to create a diversified art feast for the audience.
Creative exchange base:
We hope to listen to the voices from young and middle-aged people in museum, whether it is our free exhibitions or paid courses or activities.
We encourage young people to exchange and release their true ideas to create their own works. We provide places for them, hoping that they can form a community between their common hobbies, and that they can create new thinking sparks while relaxing and entertaining.
