Highlights of the Week
What a brilliant week we have had. We are thrilled to welcome Ms Wilson, our new librarian, whose enthusiasm has immediately revitalised our library space. It's heartening to see this vibrant area teeming with students and engaging in a diverse range of activities.
The Sparkle and Lights contest mean that many of our classrooms have been adorned with festive lights and decorations, radiating a warm, welcoming atmosphere, adjudicated by our very own Christmas aficionado Ms Bromly, has generated much excitement. The winning classroom will be announced shortly and awarded a special prize. On the same Christmas-y theme a huge congratulations to Luisa Natsui for winning our Christmas Card competition and a very close runner up Maria Luisa Ribeiro.
It was also wonderful to present our Year 11 students with Twickenham School tote bags, each filled with personalised revision guides and workbooks for all their GCSE subjects. This initiative aims to equip every student with equal resources for success in their upcoming January mock exams and their real GCSEs in May 24. I extend my heartfelt gratitude to the teachers for meticulously selecting the best materials, Ms Armstrong for her exceptional negotiation skills that saved significant funds, and our dedicated administrative team for their careful preparation of each bag. The whole team at TS are fully invested in our Year 11 students’ success and are so proud to support their academic journey.
Our Year 7 Parent Evening was a resounding success. The opportunity for parents and teachers to connect, discuss student achievements, and outline areas for growth was invaluable. I commend our teachers for their commitment and thank our parents for their active participation in this collaboration.
Notices
All students MUST attend every day for the final week of school. We still have a huge amount of learning to do, and a lot of ground will be covered. Students' attendance is vitally important right up to the end.
Christmas Celebrations
On Wednesday, 13th December, we are hosting a Christmas Jumper Mufti, and a Charity Bake Sale to raise money for Save the Children. Participation requires a minimum donation of one pound for the Christmas Jumper Mufti, which can be paid via Squid and some additional funds for the bake sale. On the same day we are excited to provide a communal Christmas lunch for all students and staff, featuring traditional fare, festive music, and crackers. Please ensure your child’s meal preferences are submitted via the link here.
Term Dates Reminder
Please note that this term ends on Friday, 15th December between 12.30 and 13.00 depending on the length of the end of term assembly. The new spring term will commence on Tuesday, 2nd January at 8:30 am.
Uniform Reminder
As we prepare for the upcoming term, we kindly remind parents and guardians to ensure their children return with the correct uniform and necessary equipment. Adherence to our uniform and jewellery policy is crucial, and we will be conducting daily checks to maintain consistency. Non-compliant students will be provided with school-issued uniforms, and inappropriate jewellery will be confiscated. Your cooperation in upholding these standards is greatly appreciated. We have invested in a whole host of brand new school shoes and uniform.
Academic Reports and Flu Vaccinations
Year 7-10 students have now received their MP1 reports. For general questions about the report, please contact Mr. Grantham. Queries regarding attendance or behaviour should be directed to the form teacher, and subject-specific questions can be addressed to the respective subject teacher.
