Thank you to the many parents who were able to come out and watch our Honours Awards presentation and also attended our Parent/Teacher Interviews.

Next week we have a special guest from the RCMP speaking to our grade 8 students on topics which will include, consent, social media, conflict and the available resources for youth from the RCMP.

Learning In Action

Eggs in Space

The "Eggs in Space" EGGstravaganza was a SMASHING success! All grade 7 Science students are given the same rubric and have access to the same materials and it is always amazing to see the wide variety of designs that they come up with. Many structures held their egg while others could not fight gravity but students had a great time EGGsperimenting with their ideas and creating their structures. EGGxcellent work, grade 7s!

Mouse Trap

Science 8: Students in Science 8 had the chance to build mousetrap cars for the past week to conclude their Mechanical Systems Unit. This project involved planning, design, and building aspects, while practicing group working and troubleshooting skills. We concluded the project with a friendly race, with prizes for furthest distance travelled, best design, and straightest line travelled.

Future Engineer!

Our very own Mason Apoll from homeroom 8B included an extra submission that included parts he 3D printed at home. This car included ball bearings in the wheel axles and a pulley system that allowed the car to travel an astonishing distance of 82 feet!
