7th Grade Service Project: "Case for Smiles"
We have BIG things going on to help fund this service project:
* Dress Down Day - A dress down day on Monday will benefit Case for Smiles
* Popsicle Sale - On Monday, 10/16 and Tuesday, 10/17 at morning recess, we will sell popsicles, $1 each.
* Raffle Baskets - It is that time of year for our BIG raffle basket endeavor. This week, the 7th graders visited the classrooms and told all the students about our AMAZING raffle baskets. They distributed ticket order forms, which will be due next week, October 18.
We would be so grateful for your support in all of these endeavors. Thank you so much!
Sincerely,
The 7th Grade
Middle School is hard at work!
Learning is fun in Kindergarten!
The SKS Math Olympiad Team is back for a new season!
A note as the excitement of Halloween begins amongst our students
Respectfully there are protocols we have had in place the last several years that I ask all families/students to continue to follow:
- There shouldn't be any inappropriate costumes: This includes guns, knives or any weapons. Let’s take the violence out of Halloween, and please absolutely no costumes that refer to the homeless /indigent. Scary yes! Violent no!
- Group costumes are allowed. However we strive as a Catholic school to support inclusivity – we ask all students to be open, inviting, and receptive to those that wish to be a part of a group. Let’s avoid hurt feelings.
Winter Uniforms Photos and explanation
The following photos show students in proper winter uniform.
A few reminders:
~ Navy socks only should be worn with the winter uniform. White or navy socks may be worn on gym days.
~ Girls may wear NAVY knee socks, tights, or NAVY leggings with NAVY socks.
~ New this year for the boys: Option 1 is that the boys may wear the WHITE polo shirt, no tie, with the quarter zip. Option 2 is that the boys may wear the oxford shirt with a tie. If wearing the oxford shirt a tie must be worn.
~ Only SKS sweaters, crew necks, or quarter zips should be worn with the uniform (not spiritwear or hoodies from other schools/vacation spots)

Family Mass at SKS
Every Sunday at the 9:30AM Mass
The Sunday 9:30AM Mass has long been considered our “Family Mass” and now it includes even more faith-centered activities for young children. Kids will enjoy the children’s choir twice monthly, gathering at the altar to listen to Father Scott’s homily, children’s liturgy of the word in the parish center and more. Each week will vary; check the Flocknote for the schedule. This week features:
- Children's Choir and Lectors
- Children's Liturgy of the Word
Of course, families and children are welcomed at any St. Katharine's Mass!
Prayer Corner: Prayer for Peace by Pope John Paul II
Hear my voice, Lord, for it is that of the victims
Of all the wars and of all the violence
Between individuals and peoples.
Hear my voice, for it is that of all the children
Who suffer and will suffer
As long as people put their faith in weapons and war?
Hear my voice, when I ask you to breathe into
The heart of all human beings
The wisdom of peace
The strength of justice
And the joy of friendship?
Hear my voice when I speak for the multitudes who,
In all countries and at all times,
Do not want war and are ready to travel the way of peace?
Hear my voice and give us the strength
Always to respond to hate with love,
To injustice with a total commitment to justice,
To misery with sharing.
Hear my voice, O Lord, and grant to the world,
your eternal peace.
