Huskie Highlights

We are excited to see our hallways filled with excited students on Monday, August 21st. Just a reminder, families can drop off students at Hemlock Elementary at 7:25 a.m. using the drive-thru loop. Staff members will be stationed throughout the school directing students to their classrooms. If you are walking your child up, please park in the parking lot rather than the drive-thru.

At K.C. Ling Elementary, drop-off time begins at 7:20 a.m. Students will enter through the main doors and wait by their lockers or go to the cafeteria for breakfast. Please utilize the new loop and have students exit your vehicle on the passenger side along the sidewalk. If your child needs assistance, please park in the parking lot as indicated in the image below and walk them across using the crosswalk to keep the flow of traffic moving steadily. Children should not walk from the parking lot to the sidewalk unattended.

We are thrilled to announce that thanks to the Michigan School Meals Program, EVERY child at Hemlock Public School District, pre-K through 12th grade, will now be able to enjoy a delicious and nutritious breakfast and lunch for FREE!

Not only will this amazing program lighten the load on your wallet (we all know kids can eat their way through a pantry), but it'll save you precious time in the morning.

Now, here's the nitty-gritty: Although the meals are free, we do need all our parents to fill out the new free/reduced lunch application. This data is super important as it helps secure state and federal funding for this fantastic initiative.

There are several spirit days, field trips, and field day when we encourage students to wear a grade-level color. We are offering class color shirts and sweatshirts that will make it easier for students to decide what to wear on these days. Get your child's class color shirt by using the link below. The online ordering window ends Friday, September 6th. Delivery is expected the week of September 25th.

We are in need of water bottles for the upcoming school year. If you are able to donate, please drop them off in the office. Thank you!
