We begin the week marking the 22nd Anniversary of the tragic events that developed on September 11, 2001. Nearly 3,000 innocent lives were lost, and countless others were affected by the aftermath. As we remember this solemn day, let us reflect on the resilience and unity that emerged. Together, we stand strong reaffirming our commitment to a more peaceful world.

This week we also begin the celebration of National Hispanic Heritage Month - celebrating the contributions, cultures and histories of ancestors that came from Spain, Mexico, the Caribbean, and Central and South America. Come out on Sunday, September 17 to the LULAC Parade and Festival at Runner's Park in downtown East Moline to see the GMS Mariachi Band

• Parade at 12pm
• Mariachi Performance at 2pm

Please remember 6th grade student physicals and immunizations must be completed by Sunday, October 15th. Please see the flyer below as CHC has numerous dates to schedule an appointment.

• If you're a 7th or 8th grader looking for a positive circle of hermanas, then Latinx Workshop is for you! We center the voice, culture, and history of Latinas and Latinx while empowering our members to give back to their community. All are welcome. Pick up a registration form in Student Services or speak with Mrs. Mojica for more details.

• Latinx Workshop and One By One are scheduled for their 1st university campus visit during fall break. Permission slips are due no later than September 15th to Mrs. Newton in the library. Don't miss out on touring the University of Wisconsin-Platteville during homecoming week!

• Are you looking for learning opportunities for your child to do at home? Your child could work on the following items to enhance their learning here at school!

Standards Based Grading...

5th and 6th grade parents you may have noticed that your child’s gradebook looks a little different. As communicated last year, Glenview has moved to Standards Based Grading for our 5th and 6th grade students. Stay tuned to this weekly newsletter for information regarding this new reporting system!
