We begin the week marking the 22nd Anniversary of the tragic events that developed on September 11, 2001. Nearly 3,000 innocent lives were lost, and countless others were affected by the aftermath. As we remember this solemn day, let us reflect on the resilience and unity that emerged. Together, we stand strong reaffirming our commitment to a more peaceful world.
This week we also begin the celebration of National Hispanic Heritage Month - celebrating the contributions, cultures and histories of ancestors that came from Spain, Mexico, the Caribbean, and Central and South America. Come out on Sunday, September 17 to the LULAC Parade and Festival at Runner's Park in downtown East Moline to see the GMS Mariachi Band

If you're a 7th or 8th grader looking for a positive circle of hermanas, then Latinx Workshop is for you! We center the voice, culture, and history of Latinas and Latinx while empowering our members to give back to their community. All are welcome. Pick up a registration form in Student Services or speak with Mrs. Mojica for more details.
Latinx Workshop and One By One are scheduled for their 1st university campus visit during fall break. Permission slips are due no later than September 15th to Mrs. Newton in the library. Don't miss out on touring the University of Wisconsin-Platteville during homecoming week!
