Dear Argos families,

As we move into the fall months, one of the best opportunities for communication between parents and teachers happens on October 11th & 12th during our Parent-Teacher conferences. During this evening, parents are able to spend time with their child's teacher to learn about their child's academic growth. You are able to sign up online using the information that your child's teacher sent home. If you have questions, please do not hesitate to contact the teacher or our elementary office. Indiana College Choice 529 Direct Savings plan is a simple way to invest in your child's education tax-free. Just by opening an account, your child receives a free $25 deposit from Marshall County Promise. Features include:

• Easy Setup: It takes only a few minutes. You can sign up in the elementary office or enroll at https://www.marshallcountypromise.org
• Tax Benefits: Withdrawls for college expenses are tax-free. Any Indiana resident who contributes to your child's account can qualify for a state tax credit of up to $1,000 each year.
• Automatic Deposits: Make saving easier by setting up an automatic deposit.
• Simple Transfers: If you save more money than your child needs, the account's beneficiary can easily be changed to a sibling or other relative.

Even if your child already has a 529 savings account, they can still participate in the Marshall County Promise "Champions" program. If your child gets the "Champions" of their life to donate $25 to their 529 account, the Marshall County Promise fund will add $25 to their account, too. Students in grades 2-6 have a great opportunity to participate in Running Club. Running Club meets on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays after school. Students meet in the gym for streching and then walk to the Argos Community Park where they run/walk the one mile path around the park. Student pick-up is at the elementary doors at approximately 4:10 PM. A big thank you to Coach Candy Frick and Kindergarten teacher Miss Steinbacher for overseeing the Running Club!!

Argos Old Gold Boosters helps to support the students and staff at Argos Community Schools. If you have been looking for a way to be involved and help our school, this is a great group to join! The October meeting is on a different night than normal, so mark your calendars for Tuesday, October 10th at 6:30 pm. We will be meeting in the school library and discussing an upcoming spirit wear sale. You can find out more about our group by going to the Parent's tab on the school website and select Old Gold Boosters from the right-hand side. We can also be found on Facebook under Argos Old Gold Boosters.

What exactly is Title 1? This is a great opportunity to find out what Title 1 is all about! There are two different meeting times, October 11th at 6:00 PM or October 12th at 4:00 PM, so choose the time that is best for you. The meeting will be held in room 108.

• October 10 - Argos Old Gold Boosters Meeting 6:30 PM in the library
• October 11 & 12 - Parent Teacher Conferences 3:30-7:30 PM
• October 11 - Title 1 Meeting 6:00 PM
• October 12 - Title 1 Meeting 4:00 PM
• October 13 - Elearning Day
• October 16-20 - Fall Break
• October 26 - Muffins with Mom Grades K-3 7:15 AM
• October 31 - Fall Party: Preschool, Pre-K and Kindergarten will dress up and parade around classrooms at 2:00
• November 3 - Elearning Day

During morning drop off it is important that cars are NOT parked along the sidewalk. If you need to park, please pull into a parking spot and your child can use the crosswalk. Thanks for helping keep things moving!
