Picture Day TOMORROW, Friday, October 8th

Don't worry- you did NOT miss any backpack mail or a flyer! Your child's picture will be taken at school tomorrow and a photo information flyer will go home with them. Look for this after school on Friday as it has all the information you will need to order!

If your child is absent, our make up picture day is November 3rd. iSmile also has a studio in Colonie Center and welcomes you to schedule your make up picture in that location should you choose.

I'm looking forward to seeing everyone's smiles! (Yes, masks will be allowed to be briefly removed for the picture. The photographer will be at least 6' away.)

Early Dismissals

District-wide Emergency Early Release Drill- October 8

Each year the entire RCS school district must complete an emergency early release drill that requires us to evacuate students and staff 15-minutes before regular dismissal time. This drill helps prepare us in the case of an emergency that would require us to transport the entire district home or to another location prior to the end of the school day. The drill is set for tomorrow, Friday, October 8, 2021. In working with transportation to get the students home as soon as possible, here are the plans for our building:

Students who get picked up will be released at 2:20 PM.
Students who take the bus will be dismissed starting at 2:35 PM.
ASAP will be held.

Staff Development Day, Early Dismissal PK-12- October 12th

Dismissal is at 12:30 PM. Please note the following for this date:

PM Pre-K students will not be coming to school that day and AM Pre-K students will be dismissed with the rest of the grades at 12:30 PM.
Parent pick up will begin at 12:05 PM.
Students who take the bus will be dismissed starting at 12:15 PM.
ASAP will be held.
Students will eat lunch prior to dismissal.

Open House

Thank you for attending this year's virtual Open House. If you were unable to attend, please find the presentation with many informative links here. Please note that the Google Meet links have been removed.

Parent Pick Up

The parent pick up process seems to be working well. As a reminder, please refrain from entering the school to pick up your child during dismissal hours (3:05-3:30 M-Th & 2:35-3:00 F) unless there are extenuating circumstances. Pickup is on the side of the building.

Over the next couple of weeks, we will be switching out your car tags as you drive through the line. We mistakenly did not make the numbers dark enough this year and are having difficulty reading them from a distance.

In addition, if you do NOT regularly pick up your child (daily basis), please send a note into the teacher stating whether you will be picking up or if your child should ride the bus. This is ONLY for families who do not regularly pick up. We don't want students mistakenly to get on the bus not knowing that you are here to pick them up. Thank you for your cooperation!
