Georgia Virtual School Program
Opportunities and offerings are available for students to engage in Advanced Placement, college preparatory, career and technical courses, and other electives in a flexible, virtual setting to enhance their learning experiences. Georgia Virtual School provides a teacher-led, virtual classroom environment that is challenging and converges on the needs and learning styles of its students. GaVS instructors are highly qualified and hold a valid Georgia teaching certificate in their subject area.

The Hiring Process
Over the past several semesters, Georgia Virtual School serviced over 26,000 enrollments. With the current growth, GaVS needs teachers committed to teaching these students and learning the best practices of online education.
Prospective candidates must hold a valid Georgia Teaching certificate (http://www.gapsc.com/Certification/Lookup.aspx), submit an application to Teachers-Teachers, and successfully complete the Effective Online Teaching Course (TOOL) course prior to GaVS orientation training.

Submit resume to open position via Teachers-Teachers: http://tinyurl.com/knrvyr9. *Deadline for submission listed under individual job postings.
Steps Three and Four:
Complete the Effective Online Teaching Course: https://www.openteachertraining.org.
The open online course highlights the essential traits of highly effective online educators and registration is free. Through the completion of five learning modules, participants obtain an amplified understanding of the relevance of effective communication practices, sound, evaluative techniques, and navigation through disparate LMS (Learning Management System) platforms.
Prior to teaching with GaVS, candidates must become verified and secure the Effective Online Teaching badge. *All candidates must be verified prior to hiring process commences.

Qualified candidates (those who hold a valid and current Georgia Teaching Certificate and completion of TOOL) will receive correspondence regarding an interview and the interview process.
