Come Join the PTO! We’re assembling our team for the 2022-23 School Year!

Becoming a member of our Parent Teacher Organization (PTO) is a great way to directly participate in your child’s education. There are positions available for all levels of time-commitment: from event participation like the Boo Fest or Movie Nights, to coordinator positions that help with Yearbook, Snack Window, and Book Fairs, as well as administrative roles like Treasurer or Vice-President who work with the other Board members in budgeting and implementing all the many ways the PTO strives to support your school, your classroom, and your children.

Interested but not sure where you might be a good fit? Become a Member At Large, come to a meeting, and learn what events/fundraisers need extra hands! Or help us fill out some of our amazing committees such as the Diversity & Inclusion Action Team or Website Committee! We promise there’s a role for you.

Spotlighted Positions:

• Treasurer: do you get a thrill when your checkbook or spreadsheet all balances out? Enjoy writing checks and seeing people smile when you give them money? Then this role might be for you! The Treasurer works as a team with the other Board members so it’s OK if this is new to you-- on the job training is part of the fun.

• Vice-President: this role could be for you if you enjoy leading the welcoming party for new members. This person also coordinates the purchase and selling of our fabulous Spirit Wear clothing items-- how fun is that?!

Convertirse en miembro de nuestra Organización de Padres y Maestros (PTO) es una excelente manera de participar directamente en la educación de su hijo. El Tesorero trabaja en equipo con los otros miembros de la Junta, por lo que está bien si esto es nuevo para usted: la capacitación en el trabajo es parte de la diversión.

• Vicepresidente: este cargo podría ser para usted si le gusta liderar la fiesta de bienvenida para los nuevos miembros. Esta persona también coordina la compra y venta de nuestras fabulosas prendas Spirit Wear. ¡¿Qué tan divertido es eso?

We are fast approaching the deadline for yearbook photos. In order to make sure we have enough time to do the layout and editing, we are asking for you to submit any photos you have of school or class events by April 1st. You can email photos to

Thank you for taking the time to complete the Safe Routes to School survey. This year, the survey provides an opportunity to list specific spots along your child's route to school that causes you concern or prevents you from allowing your child(ren) to walk or bike to school. This is valuable feedback that will be shared with decision makers throughout the county who can address infrastructure issues regarding safe walking and biking, and with decision makers in your school community. This survey will take approximately 3 minutes to complete.

Encuesta para padres/tutores sobre las rutas seguras a la escuela

Gracias por tomarse el tiempo de contestar esta encuesta para padres y tutores de parte de Safe Routes to School. Este año la encuesta brinda la oportunidad de señalar lugares específicos a lo largo de la ruta que su hijo(s) toma para llegar a la escuela, que causan preocupación o le impiden permitir que su(s) hijo(s) caminen o vayan en bicicleta a la escuela. Sus comentarios son muy valiosos y se compartirán con los encargados de tomar decisiones en todo el condado que pueden abordar los problemas de infraestructura relacionados con caminar y andar en bicicleta con seguridad y con los encargados de tomar decisiones en su comunidad escolar. Favor de completar esta encuesta solo le tomará aproximadamente 3 minutos.

PAWS stands for Problem Solver, Always Kind, Willing to Try, and Staying Safe. Kids that are caught doing one of these activities are awarded a PAWS Point. Students get a postcard delivered to their home thanking them for doing a great job. We also have a tower that we fill up with the PAWS Point tickets and when it gets filled up, the entire school will celebrate for everyone's hard work. This week's winners are:

PAWS significa Solucionador de Problemas, Siempre Amable, Dispuesto a Intentar y Manteniéndose Seguro. Los niños que son sorprendidos haciendo una de estas actividades reciben un Punto PAWS. Los estudiantes reciben una postal en su casa agradeciéndoles por hacer un gran trabajo. This award is given to students who have shown outstanding participation in their classes. They engage in learning by asking questions being an active participant in conversations and activities in a positive way. Children can only be nominated for this award by their classroom teacher. Winners are given a certificate and a lollipop that is personally delivered to their home. This week’s winners are:

Este premio se otorga a los estudiantes que han demostrado una participación destacada en sus clases.
