Midweek

Newsletter Schedule 10/1
Congratulations students and parents on a solid effort on Saturday in Mesquite with good results. A very positive first step! Only a first step, however, toward an ever more challenging competitive landscape leading to opportunities to perform on the biggest public stages representing our school, community, and state at UIL events and in Indianapolis next month at the Bands of America Grand National Championships. Keep moving forward every day. Expect more. Tolerate less.
Congrats also to our very own Chan-hee Kim crowned as Hebron High School 2023 Homecoming Queen and Wesley Winkler crowned as Hebron High School 2023 Homecoming King!!! Thank you to Mackenzie Killian and Jose Gallegos for also representing the Hebron High School Band as members of the Homecoming Court! Super proud of these students!

Bandtober is here! Click on Video ABOVE!
Bandtober is HERE so we will have many volunteer jobs every week for the entire month. Planning ahead will be crucial this month, so please click on the “Click Here to Volunteer” button to go to our volunteer website and view upcoming volunteer opportunities. Watch this short video for more info on how you can help during Bandtober!
Here are our volunteer opportunities for the week of October 1st:
- PROPS! PROPS! PROPS! Thank you to everyone who came out Thursday night to help with Vinyl Installation! Because so many people showed up to help, we achieved our goal of finishing the Guard Shields and even got the tops of the Monoliths done! We need just as much help every night this week (Mon-Thurs) to get the vinyl applied to all the remaining props before BOA DFW on Saturday. PLEASE come help, it is super fun and you do NOT need experience to help.
- This week’s middle school game (Arbor Creek vs Delay) is on Tuesday at Hebron’s stadium, and we need help with band concessions that night. By helping with concessions for the middle school games you will receive one $20 credit per game toward your student’s fundraising goal of $450.
- This Friday we have an away game at Plano HS. We need Chaperones, Pit Crew, and Water Crew help.
- Pit Crew needs alot more volunteers for Friday night’s away game and for Saturday’s full band contest!
- Memory Books still needs representatives from Flutes and Tubas. If you have a computer/tablet/phone and can scroll through photos and look for kids, you can do this job! Please signup to help!
- If you have any questions reach out to Nikki Wilson at volunteers@hebronband.org

Grand National Championships Information UPDATE
***New and updated information as of 10/1/23***
Trip logistics are being finalized and the last details are being organized with Music Travel. Room assignments are being made, bus lists confirmed and final details sorted out. Be sure to have your students look out for an email early this week with information about a meal selection for our rehearsal at Grand Park.
According to the Music Travel payment schedule, you should have paid $975.00 into your account. Remember these payments are made directly to Music Travel, and NOT the Booster Club. Make sure to log into your Music Travel Account to verify you are on track. Keep in mind that payments to Music Travel apply ONLY to the trip in November and are separate from the band fees that the Booster Club collects through Presto.
As a reminder all trip fees must be paid in full by October 18th. Double-check your account balance today and make sure you are on track with your payments. Your account with Music Travel must be settled before we depart, or they will not allow your student to board the bus. Contact Music Travel at support@musictravel.com if you have questions regarding your account or balance.
The last payment final amount is being finalized this week but WILL NOT exceed the amount of the previous payments ($325).
It is going to be a fun month now that competition season is in full swing, and our Indy trip details are being finalized! #AIATT
Fundraising
1. LAST DAY TO ORDER BRICKS IS OCT. 1
Make a lasting impression with the Hebron Band! Purchase a Hebron Band Booster Brick to commemorate your student’s participation in the band and share your well wishes. Bricks are displayed on the wall outside the Band Hall. Each 4” x 8” brick is customized with 3 lines of text (which could include the student’s name, section, graduating class) and a logo (optional). Go to hebronband.org/bricks for more information about how to order.
For more information, contact Alison McCoy at bricks@hebronband.org or fundraising@hebronband.org
2. 2/3 OF THE WAY TO FUNDING THE STUDENT SCHOLARSHIP ASSISTANCE FUND!
Hey Band, In addition to our normal fundraising activities this year that cover the general operating costs of the band, we have additional funds needed for 54 students in our band family in order to help get these students to Grand Nats. We realize that many of you have given so much already, but if you are able, we ask that you donate to our directed Student Scholarship Assistance Fund. Any amount is greatly appreciated. You can scan the QR code above or go to https://paybee.io/@hebronband@80. We are ⅓ of the way there to meeting the financial need of these band students. Thank you for your generosity. #AIATT
3. UPCOMING FUNDRAISERS (SAVE THE DATE) - Please mark your calendars for our upcoming fundraisers including Poinsettias, Mattresses, and Mulch!!
LISD Bond & VATRE Information
The Hebron Band Booster Club would like to let our parents know that the LISD Board of Trustees has voted to call for a $1.23B bond election and a voter-approved tax rate ratification election (VATRE). Both proposals will be up for voter approval on November 7th.
Registered voters residing within Lewisville ISD boundaries will be asked to consider a total of seven propositions that would generate additional funding to support educational programs and conduct maintenance, repairs and renovations across the district. If voters approve all six bond propositions (totaling $1.23B) and the VATRE, the total tax rate will be 10.6 cents lower than last year’s tax rate, a double-digit decrease in the total rate.
