DAA Middle School

It has been a wonderful week back with our students! While jumping back into academics, we took time in our CREW classes to review our expectations as we strive to keep the Culture of Kindness a cornerstone of our daily life at DAA. On February 7, all parents are encouraged to come and learn more about our efforts in sustaining and improving behavior for learning across DAA.

As we are at the peak of beautiful weather, students will have access to go outdoors everyday during lunch time. We believe that fresh air and sunshine is a key component to wellbeing and have put structures in place in order to ensure students are also properly supervised.

We are coming toward the end of the first semester, so please check your child's grades on Powerschool and follow up with the teacher if you have any specific questions. The last day of the semester will be January 27, with report cards being emailed to families on February 2.

Finally, we hope to see you at our next coffee morning on Tues, January 10 at 8am. The K12 parent session will be led by Dr. Daniella Salazar from the Lighthouse on "Managing Difficult Emotions." Please feel free to come and invite your friends from the elementary and high school as well! More details can be found on the flyer below.

Students in Grade 6 will complete their semester-long exploratory language course on January 27, after which they are required to choose a language for further study in the second semester. The Modern Foreign Languages department invites all Grade 6 parents to attend a parent information session on this topic on Wednesday, January 11, from 4:30PM – 5:30 PM in the auditorium or streamed live on YouTube.

All G6 language course selections for Semester 2 must be submitted via this SURVEY by Wednesday, January 18 at 3:00 PM. (Please note that the survey will open after the information session at 5:30 PM on January 11.)
