LOTS of information in this newsletter - please read carefully!

Hello KES families! In just 2 short weeks, school will be back in session! The building is buzzing with activity as the capital project continues to move along and our staff prepares to welcome students back both physically and remotely. I've included a few pictures of the changes to the building below - it looks great.

As we navigate reopening and the launch of remote learning, please continue to reach out with questions/concerns. Many of you have in the past few weeks and I am always happy to take a few minutes to talk. Call or email - it's important to me that you feel supported.

Orientation/Open House

Grades 1-4: Open House will be virtual this year - teachers will hold a Zoom session during the afternoon of Thursday, September 3. To increase security surrounding these meetings, links and passwords will be emailed directly to families. If you don't receive the necessary information, please contact the main office

Drop Off/Pick Up Procedures

Visitors are not permitted to enter the building without an appointment. A parent committee met to develop procedures to streamline this process. Full details will be mailed to those families that indicated they would be transporting students themselves. A link can also be found here:

Please note that dismissal for students being picked up is 3:20. This is to ease congestion with buses. If you are picking up students, you must have a pick up pass (details in the above link).

Attendance

Our office secretary, Mrs. Tynan will be in charge of attendance this year. Please call her to report absences at 659-8317. Students who enter the building after 8:50 are considered late.

Technology

If your student(s) are returning to school in person, please send the school issued device that they were given in the spring back with them on the first day. We will need to collect, update and redistribute devices in the first few weeks of school. Remote students will need to bring their devices in to be updated beginning on Monday, 8/31.
