Principal's Message
Happy Friday Panthers! It's been another good week at DKMS.
I would like to give a shout out to our middle school band and Mrs. Knight, for their excellent performance Thursday night at their winter concert. It is awesome to see our students' hard work and practice turn into such a great holiday sound! Also, I would like to thank our parents and community for showing up to the concert. It was literally standing room only!
As we are transitioning from fall to winter, we are now in the cold and flu season. We know that attendance is very important, but so is the health of all of our students. If you know your child is sick (fever, vomiting, coughing, sore throat, etc.), we ask that you have your child stay home and you call our middle school attendance line at (269) 623-1540 to let us know they will not be coming to school.
My final reminder is about your child's Chromebook. We understand that like everything else that is used a lot, it will eventually need to be repaired or replaced. If something needs to be repaired or replaced, we ask that the Chromebook be brought to the middle school office. If the Chromebook is damaged due to the student's handling of the device, the student will be responsible for paying for the repair or replacement. This includes, but is not limited to: intentionally hitting the screen, pulling off keyboard buttons or other parts of the keyboard, losing the Chromebook or charger, writing on the Chromebook, or other actions that are deemed to have been done intentionally to damage the device. Chromebooks will be repaired or replaced in these instances, but only returned to the student when the repair bill is paid.
As always, I would like to thank our staff, students, families, and community for their commitment to helping DKMS be a wonderful place to teach and learn. I truly appreciate everyone's hard work and dedication toward our students' success! Have a great weekend!
Just can't hide that PANTHER PRIDE!
Thank you,
