Art News from Mrs. Crane!
Thank you for your orders from the Art to Remember fundraiser! The art department earned 304.60 to go towards new art supplies! Last year the money was put towards a new paper cutter! This year the money went to new STEAM items including an OZOBOT - a little robot that will follow the path of markers. The color of the marker can make the robot go faster or slower and Artie Max- a coding robot. I'm excited to introduce these materials into the classroom.

The students created what they thought was happening in the piece of music or how it made them feel or what it reminded them of or the instruments they thought they heard. We were able to send 7 pieces of art into the contest. The 7 artists whose artwork was submitted are:

Valentine's Day Parties
Valentine's Day parties will take place on Wednesday, February 14 from 1:30pm-2:30pm.
Parents are asked to park in the middle parking lot OR gravel parking lot to help alleviate cars being parked in by the busses at the end of the day.
If you signed up to donate items to the classroom, you can bring those at 1:15pm and take to the classroom. Parents/guardians will then need to return to the main entrance until parties begin at 1:30pm.
A Note from the Counselor, Ms. Katnik
As we are about halfway through the school year, I took time at the beginning of this month to do minute meetings again with the students. These consisted of having a short meeting with every student in our building. It was a great way for me to check back in with all of our students and see how they are doing / how their year has been going. Throughout this month, we also focused on the topic of health and wellness in Counseling. We discussed a few different things that have to do with this topic. We took time to reflect on our favorite moments and accomplishments in 2023 and then looked forward to 2024 and discussed what we hope to accomplish throughout this year. We also talked about various healthy habits that can benefit both our physical and mental health. In addition, we focused specifically on digital health and how we can make healthy choices with our use of screens. Make sure to check back in about a month for another update on what we are doing in Counseling!
