COME WITH US TO THE COROMANDEL!
A cornucopia of venue treats 14,15 May
This tour shows you some of the beautiful sights of the Coromandel, samples some fare, visits venues you may not have been to before & shows you how much of the area is burgeoning with construction.
We'll begin, 14 May, by taking the pretty route over the hills to Whangamata, where we'll stop at Luv Coffee for a coffee/tea & scone, before moving on to have a look at Hahei & going to Cathedral Cove Macadamias

"Our macadamias are hand-picked & certified organic. Macadamias are high in fibre & anti-oxidants; contain vitamins A, B group and E, are high in beneficial mono-unsaturated fats and are cholesterol free."
This venue has a large range of macadamia products which you can purchase, if you're so-inclined. But we warn you - their macadamia brittle is tremendously addictive!
HOT WATER BREWING COMPANY

OR
Green/Black/ & Lapsang Souchon teas
with a piece of pizza to wash them down.
MERCURY BAY ESTATE
We will then proceed to our accommodation (Peninsula Motel) in Whitianga, and enjoy dinner in the evening at Salt. Those who wish to can be taken to & returned from The.Lost Spring if they wish to have a swim, but the swim will be at your own cost.
DRIVING CREEK RAILWAY & COROMANDEL TOWN
This train ride is one of the most popular Coromandel attractions and a New Zealand must-do. The trip will take you on an amazing railway situated in the hills. It will only take 1-hour, round trip. The train ride includes short tunnels, 2 spirals & 5 reversing points, while climbing up to the Eyefull Tower.which gives a panoramic view of the Hauraki Gulf.
Those not wanting to go on the train will be dropped in the Township for shopping.
Before leaving Coromandel, we will stop at Hot Smoked, so that those of you who like smoked sea-products can purchase them. (We will take a chilly bin for storage until you get home.)
THE WATERWORKS
After leaving town , time permitting, we will visit the kauri grove & waterfall on the 309 Road, before looking at the delights of The Waterworks, where we will have a light lunch. This venue was voted by AA Tourism as 'a must do kiwi experience' & has a TripAdvisor Certificate of Excellence. "It is a theme park with a difference. Set in 5 acres of native Coromandel bush... is an array of water-powered inventions, quirky contraptions and fun to discover at every turn."
The picturesque cost road to Thames willlead us to our next venue.
