General Updates about NWR
Portrait of a Patriot
The final Portrait of a Patriot will be presented to the public at our monthly board meeting on May 16 at 6:00 pm. We will share the outcome of the staff, student, community, parent, and design team forums at this time. We are proud of the work that our community has put into this plan and we are excited to use the outcomes of the Portrait to drive our next strategic plan for the school.
Roofing Project
- The roof is more than halfway completed now - that includes ALL details like trim work.
- The leak in our high school wing will be fixed in about 2-3 working days. Unfortunately, the material used for the roof cannot be applied in the rain.
- This seems to be taking long but in all honesty, it is a huge undertaking and these things take time.
- Furthermore, we could not roof during state testing so that is why we are a few days behind. The roofers will be back to finish as soon as the weather improves.
In the meantime, we have closed that area of the school because of the leaking, and the NWR maintenance department tarped the roof as well as the area indoors. Please know that we are doing all that we can do at this time. We appreciate your patience.
End of Year Activities
We are planning our end-of-year activities and we have a great line-up for our students. We are happy to announce that all activities are running as they did in the past. Advisors and staff responsible for planning will reach out to students and parents in due time but I have put a list together for you at the end of this post. Should dates or times change, we will communicate that out as well.
MS Bathrooms/MS Dance Clarification
Please take a moment to talk with your children about the seriousness of this situation. It is causing our bathrooms to be shut down and our resources are being strained to address this issue. For some perspective on this, flushing items other than paper and clogging the toilets with items such as full rolls of toilet paper, soda cans, soap dispensers, pencils, t-shirts, etc. could shut down our school indefinitely due to damage to our self-operated septic system.
We are monitoring the bathrooms via video feeds and hall monitors but again, we have limited resources and we could use your help in speaking with your children.
End of Year Save The Dates!
For your planning purposes
Dates and times will be forthcoming from advisors and administration. They can also be found our on district calendar on our website.
