IDEAS BEHIND MY ANCILLARY

I've inserted a picture of Eliza Doolittle's album 'Eliza Doolittle' as I like the idea of having bright colours to represent the personality of the artist. While Eliza Doolittle does this through brightly coloured items (Big Ben, Ice cream cone and pink lips) I plan on doing this through brightly coloured clothing, luminous jewellery and bright make-up.

For the front cover of my artist's album she will be placed in front of a white background with a bright clear spotlight placed in front of her to creating an effect similar to the picture above. My reason for doing this is that the spotlight will put an emphasis on the artists face which I believe will make an impact considering that this is the artists first album and it therefore needs to represent her clearly. My choices for using a white background is because it has connotations of purity and innocence reflecting the youthful target audience.

I will be using two fonts, one called 'Roadcrew' which was used in the beginning of our music video showing synergy between the album cover and music video. The font also has a youthful feel reinforcing the youthful aspect of our artist. While the second font 'Lucida Grande' will create dimension to the artist and suggest a different side to her as the font contrasts to those of the first giving the suggestion of her being the typical pop princess and having an edgy side. Something artist Rihanna does well.

I like the idea of having a symmetrical back album cover which I will do by making sure all songs are aligned in the middle of the template and placing the barcode directly bellow the tracklist. The record label and and artist detail on its left while the record label details will go on the right. This will present the details of the artist clearly which is vital considering it is important to present the artist as a whole.

I like the concept of having a medium close up as the front cover as it will present the artist clearly, furthermore the bright clothing and luminous jewellery will stand out through a shot that is quite close to the artist.
