LOUD LIBRARIANS LEAD! October Vlog Episode
Amber Wilde and Lydia Schnaible join Kathleen Slocum and Laura Kelly of the South Dakota State Library to discuss accreditation and the benefits of ongoing development for quality library services. Amber and Lydia share their experiences, while Kathleen gives library directors tips on how to start the accreditation process.
Amber Wilde has been the director of Grace Balloch Memorial Library in Spearfish for nearly fourteen years. She has been working in libraries for twenty years, holding positions at the Vermillion Public Library, the South Dakota State Library, and Black Hills State University before finding her home at the public library in Spearfish. She has also been active in the South Dakota Library Association and the Black Hills Library Consortium, taught library management for BHSU, and participated in a variety of state-wide committees throughout her career.
Amber has a son and daughter, ages 14 and 17, who keep her very busy preparing for and attending their various activities. In her limited free time, she enjoys spending time with her dog and two cats, hiking or riding bike in the beautiful Black Hills, travelling, and attending live music events featuring her boyfriend and other talented musical friends.
