Columbia Central Weekly Bulletin
Week of October 2nd
Dear Parents and Guardians,
Please take a look at events happening this week.
We are so proud of our cross country team, led by Mr. Schoff, Ms. Pickrum, Ms. Czerpaniak, and Ms. Fluga. Featured below you will see some of our top qualifiers.
Our PBIS dance is happening this Thursday. Parents need to sign a contract for students to attend this event. We look forward to our first school dance of the year.
Remember, the deadline for vaccinations for 6th grade students is October 15. Students will be excluded from school if they don't have the required vaccinations. Please read below for more information from our school nurse. We definitely do not want students to miss any school. Please reach out to us if you have any questions.
Let's make it a great week at Columbia.

SEL Second Step Program
Dear Parents,
So far this school year, your child has been learning Social-Emotional Skills in our Second Step Program. They have explored their feelings about returning to school, their personal values, their friendship values, their school community values, and ways to make our school a better place. This week, your child will begin the online portion of the Second Step Program. This week, they will review the topic, who they can turn to in the school community when they need help and ways they can support new students who need a helping hand.
One way you can engage with your student about their social-emotional needs this week is to tell your child about a time you helped someone new in any community you belong to. Ask your child how they wish someone would have helped them when they started school.
